Back Surgery????
my husband has ruptured, bulging, herniated and degenerating discs in his back. Is there anyone out there that has smilar problems, ever had back surgery?? what is your opinion of back surgery?

- Back surgery is most often only applied when it is urgently needed to. A herniated disc will most likely not be an option for surgery. I don't know about degenerating discs, though. Ask a back specialist for advice; you can always get a second opinion too.
- I'm so sorry for your husband. I had the same problem, two herniated discs. also my daughter and son had this problem. We all had surgery from the best Neurosurgeon in upstate N.Y. Once in a while we still get some pain but nothing compared to how bad it was before the surgery. Recovery time all depends on the individual. I have heard of people that after surgery are no better off, but I think it's who you have as your Dr.
- Back surgery can work wonders for alot of people. But it does not mean that the pain will completly go away in some cases it does but not many. In most it just makes the pain tolerable.
