For those who have had the procedure: what does a rhinoplasty/deviated septum procedure feel like?
Public Comments
- I have never had this done but from my past experience in the medical field; I know that they will put you to sleep and you will not feel the procedure. However, when the anesthesia and pain killers wear off, you will certainly feel like some one punched you in the nose, REALLY hard. If anyone has a different answer, than they must be from a different planet! Surgery hurts, no matter where it is done. ;o)
- I had this operation done when I was 17. They put me to sleep and performed the procedure. I woke up I had a bandage across my nose and I had to lay on my back so nothing would drain out of my nose, which by the way, will be packed with this incredible amount of gauze. You wont really feel it at first but you will be aware of it as you fully recover and the haze wears off. It's not too bad. When the doctor pulls out the gauze from your nose its pretty weird and kinda uncomfortable but not unbearable. You'll have some brusing under each eye, maybe a little or alot. It goes away. As you heal from the surgery your nose gets really wicked dryed blood and scabs are healing. Wicked nose buggers but dont pick your nose although it will be most tempting. I was fine about a week after the surgery. Good luck!
