Is it wrong to want rhinoplasty?

I'm 20, and half -Asian which explains why I have a smallish nose from the side but it's slightly wider than average aquiline noses. I like most of my face except I think my nose is too small from the side and too wide from the front. I want to get it narrowed.... My mom is angry with me because she feels I'm risking my life for vanity, etc. She sent me emails about people dying during rhinoplasty surgery etc. But I still want it. In all honesty, some people say I'm very pretty now, but I think I'll be far more confident with a nose job. Then I wouldn't mind smiling in pictures and having different angle pictures. What do you think? Should I take my mom's advice and never get it or what

  1. If you feel you need it to make yourself honestly feel better and your doing it for you why not? but take a deep look into it and research research research!! your Dr.You can always look into different makeup styles to help hide what you are uncomfortable with instead of immediatly jumping into surgery! good luck!
  2. Be proud of your smallish slightly wider than average aquiline nose !
  3. If you think rhinoplasty can give you the confidence you need then by all means go for it. Rhinoplasty is a very safe procedure. A friend of mine got it done some time ago and she is very happy with the results. However, she chose to have it in India since it's much cheaper there. In India, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Panama, Argentina, Belgium, etc. they offer high quality treatment for a lot less as compared to the US. That's because of the low cost of labor in those countries. Even with the travel and other related costs taken into consideration you end up saving lots. My friend saved almost 80% of the cost in the US. She used the services of a medical tourism facilitator called Healthbase (http://www.healthbase.com). They connect you with top quality hospitals overseas at a discounted rate. They allow you to correspond with a highly qualified medical team even before you actually go there. There are a lot of online resources on their website you might find useful. Check it out!
