  1. I had this procedure three years ago and it took forever to feel normal again. I still have numbness in parts of my nose. It takes 6 mo-1 yr to totally heal but to tell you the truth it still hurts really bad if I am even tapped on the nose. BUT I love my nose and would recommend this to anyone with sinus problems (or an ugly nose). They usually break the nose five times (depending on your problem) and use a file to shave down rough fragments of bone. It is normal to have numbness for a while. If you are concerned you should ask your doctor- this sugery is very expensive and invasive so they want you to take full advantage of their expertise. I am so grateful I had my surgery...I can breath better plus I have a beautiful new nose. Oh btw...the benefits to the surgery are much better than the discomfort you are having right now. I also had my tonsils removed at the same time as my nose job and that was the worst part of the whole surgery and recovery. ! month and 1 week is such a short time ago. I promise it will get better. A nose job is such a serious surgery so it will take a while to heal. The biggest problem I have is worst allergies. Because they open your airways up more the allergens are easier to inhale. This causes more severe allergies to dust, pollen, etc. But like I said having the surgery and recovering is the worst part. After that is over you will feel, breath, smell, taste, and look better than ever! Oh yeah my sense of smell improved so much! I love my new nose and I am sure (with time) you will as well! Enjoy! Congrats on your new nose...good luck and God Bless!
