Is it normal a breast enlargement in a 18 month female baby?

My 18-month old daughter has a breast enlargement since she was born, and we have notice a brown line below umbilicus (navel). We are very worried.

Public Comments

  1. Do you breast feed her? If so it could be your homornes effecting her. I had a similar problem with my daughter when i was nursing her. She needs to be examined and bring it to the doctor's attention. She needs a blood panel run on her.
  2. What does your doctor say about it? It could just be an influx of hormones she got in the womb. I would speak to your ped about it.
  3. If anything ever gives you concern you should have a chat with your GP.
  4. It is normal for there to be breast enlargement at birth, as baby gets a hefty whack of your hormones throughout pregnancy, and especially in labour. I've not heard of it lasting though, and would see your GP for some reassurance.
  5. Questions like this are for your Health Visitor or doctor, not on a public forum. If you are at all worried, go see the real experts. That having been said, all babies are different and as long as she is feeding and developing normally it is most likely nothing to worry about .
