no period 1 month after skipping placebos?

I have a question...I was on birth control, and was having a breast augmentation, so I skipped my placebo pills last month so I wouldn't have a period during my surgery or recovery. I did have some spotting a week or so later. However, I am now through my new pack and on my last day of placebos of this pack, and I still have not had a period. Should I wait until my period starts to start my next pack, or should i go ahead and start tomorrow??? ps i do know that placebo pills are sugar pills. that is why i skipped them. to skip a break in hormones and therefore not have a period.

  1. You DO know that placebos are just sugar pills and they have no effect on anything, right?
  2. I think you should see your doctor.
  3. start your next pack as you usually would...... that would be my advice... but..my biggest advice would be to ask your doctor....
  4. Usually you should start the new pack when your period ends. I mean the kind I'm on, Marvelon is 21 pills and the week I'm off is when I have my period then I start my new pack the day I finish my period. But if you haven't had your period yet then stop taking your pills till it starts (if 21 pack) if that doesn't work buy a pregnancy test Good Luck =)
  5. Yes go ahead and start your new pack tomorrow. Unless you think you are pregnant. Missing a period does not always mean that you are pregnant. If you do miss a period, think about how likely a pregnancy is. Also consider the risks related to continuing birth control pills. Pregnancy is more likely: in the first few months of Pill use if you missed taking any Pills if you are taking another medication (especially antibiotics) if you have been sick (vomiting and/or diarrhea) If you forgot one or more pills and do not have a period that month, we recommend that you have a sensitive pregnancy test done at a clinic. If you miss two periods in a row, it could either be normal or a sign of pregnancy. Pregnancy tests are recommended right away. If you become pregnant while on The Pill, there is probably no risk of birth defects.
  6. Hi there. The placebos don't have to be taken. It is the week your period should start and people don't lose track if they are given placebos. Some people on birth control pills will have spotting or no period at all.So if you take the placebos or not that is when the period usually occurs. The placebos don't cause a period. They just make sure you are not on hormones for 7 days and not lose track. Keep taking your pills as scheduled. If you wait, it could take up to three months to get a normal period. Periods are not like clockwork for some women on the pill. The pills used to not give me a period either. I saved money on tampons. It was great. Some doctors start birth control pills on the 5th day of a period initially but not after that. Take them as scheduled. Some doctors just have women start on the first Sunday of a woman's bleeding time of their cycles initially. I'm sure you already know that birth control pills do not prevent STD's including HIV .Please use condoms in addition to the pill. Keep taking your pills as scheduled and call your doctor's office to verify what I have tried to explain. You need accurate information and peace of mind. Have a great day.
