What sort of foot excersizes aside from walking can help improve strength, etc. after a surgery?

My girlfriend had foot surgery a few months ago. She had a bone removed and tendon cut and repaired.

  1. Here are some "Foot and Ankle" exercises. Straight-Knee Calf Stretch (1) Stand an arm's length away from a wall. Place the palms of your hands on the wall. Step forward about 12" with your ___foot. (2) Keeping toes pointed forward and both heels on the floor, lean toward the wall. Bend your forward leg, but keep your back leg straight. Hold for about "20 seconds". Relax. (3) Repeat (10) times. Do at lest three sets a day. Ankle Circles (1) Sit straight- legged on the floor or firm surface. (2) Resting your L/R calf on a rolled-up towel, use your foot to draw circles in both directions in the air. (3) Continue for about "20 seconds each". Three times a day.
  2. Try picking up different size marbles with your toes.
