I went thru plastic surgery on my right foot. After surgery leg is still swollen. how long it'll take to cure.

Because of an accident, i had to undergone plastic surgery 2 months ago. Blood tissues taken from upper waist portion. I can walk now. But, the leg is still swollen. Right now, I started/suggested to use pressure garment. I want to know how long it will take to get flat surface on my foot.

  1. it'll take a month (give or take a couple weeks)
  2. Make sure you use the pressure garment. The last thing you need is a emobolism. (clot that will move through body and to heart or brain. Then you are "bye bye" forever.) The swelling will probably last a few weeks. As long as no drainage, pus, or red inflammation you should do well. Go to the docs on the scheduled follow up days and whatever you do....FOLLOW THEIR GUIDANCE. If they say, keep elevated...you do that. If they say do not walk onto flat of foot...you do that. Trust me, listening to their expert advice will enable you to heal faster. Take care.
  3. After P.Surgery,in your case re constructive surgery, one has drain pipes in place..The tight elastic bands are suppose to keep the skin to heal back and bond with the tissue,so do not move elastic bandage on & off.If the swelling is increasing and painful under the pressure of replacing the bandage..be ware...check coloring..if the blood is collecting & turning dark,it would mean blood poisoning and you would need to have it drained urgently,so be careful,be aware, but most of all,be healthy soon!
