re-lap band surgery?
I had the surgery done on the 15th dec 05.Iam wondering how do you know if the band has moved or slipped due to excessive vomitting. My doctor says i would be in pain but others have told me different can anyone help. When i have an adjustment i am unable to tolerate food for about a week, liquid only seems to be the norm.I have lost 15.2kg so far and iam fairly happy with this. How are others going in their weight loss.Any sugestions would be great.Karren

- honey, your stomach is the shape of a cherry. yes a cherry. can't get any food in there. so stop trying to eat more than a cherry. that's why u are eating LIQUID. you will be ok, just don't eat FOOD. do what the doctor says and if you don't you will end up like a co worker who had lap band surgery, and now is so skinny, he's walking death. seems he kept eating (taco bell food no less plus mcdonalds) and of course, he couldn't digest fats so now his body is wasting away (he's 6' and weights about 70 pounds) and looks horrible. so do what the doctor says and stop eating. stay on the diet and you will do very well. another co worker is loosing nicely with lap band and doesn't have all that discomfort anymore. in fact she may have the plastic surgery to get rid of all that extra skin. but she feels and looks like a million. and so will you. keep on the diet ok? good! Peace be with you. (You look marvelous!) :)
- My friend has one. When you get adjusted that makes your stomach smaller so it's logical that you would not be able to eat as much right after--that's the whole POINT. If you've been seeing your doctor regularly for adjustments then he would notice if your band had slipped. Some information on band slippage at the top link, below.
