Can anyone tell me how they are doing 18 mos after open heart surgery?

I had open heart surgery 18 mos ago and still have tightness around the incision and the chest plate feels heavy. I was wondering if others have experienced this and other effects. I can't seem to find out info on recovery past the year mark.

1. I had open heart 1 year ago. The incision is fine, but itchy once in a while. I still have pain in my ribs when I sneeze or cough or even yawn sometimes, though. It's a major surgery and there are bound to be lasting effects. I am not a surgeon or cardioligist, so I would suggest that you call your Doctor and ask for a follow up visit. Write down any questions you may have before hand so you don't forget anything. It will ease your mind. Hope I've helped.
2. have had open heart 5 1/2 years ago..still have tightness..sometimes pain in chest where insicion is...riba and back hurt when i cough or snezze...nothing to worry about...just take some tylenol...your meds and walk everyday,,,it's just something you learn to live with...relax...enjoy life...you have a second chance....take it run with it and your life to the fullest...

4. It's been 22 months for me, I feel great. Around the incision is a bit senitive, but doesn't seem tight.
