Is there a such surgery as this?
I have the flattest feet you will ever see. Is there any type of surgery i could possibly get where they put some arches into my feet? If so, how much do you suspect it might cost? thanks.

- There probably is. Modern medicine is crazy! No idea on the cost. Do some research or call a plastic surgeon or podiatrist.
- Okay I am sorry in advance for my long answer... Flat feet are caused by an inward pronation of the ankle area. I had this, and what they did to correct it was quite severe but in my case the pronation had led to the deterioration of the bone on my second metatarsal head (without corrective surgery I wouldn't be able to walk.) So my orthopedic specialist did what is called a calcaneal osteotomy; he essentially sawed of my heel and re-aligned it to ensure my ankle wouldn't pronate, then secured the heel bone with a titanium screw. (They also did bone graphs but that's not applicable to your situation so I won't bore you lol) The surgery was rather expensive because of the specialist I went to, but my insurance took the most of it. I think the total out-of-pocket was around $10,000. If this is sounding waaaay too extreme, just invest in some custom orthotic shoe insoles (not Dr. Schols or whatever, get them custom made for you.) Those will run you anywhere from $100 to $300, depending on where you get them done and what materials they used. Again, I am sorry for the drawn out answer, but I hope I helped!
