How would you spend the last 4-5 days prior to a complicated, high-risk open heart surgery?
Yes, for me it's shockingly REAL (Ventricular Septal Defect)... it's coming and it's inevitable! So how would YOU spend the week before a heart operation? And let's just ASSUME that your medical condition will not be a factor and you can do whatever you may please in that last week. Also, it all should happen in the Philippines... because that's where it will happen in my case.

- THANKS ALL YOUR FRIENDS,PARENTS,RELATIVES AND TELL THEM THERE IS AFTERLIFE.TELL THEM YOU WILL BE MEETING THEM IN THE FUTURE.GOOD LUCK,ALL IS NOT LOST.
- First off, good luck! Don't stress, although I know this is easy to say but not so easy to do. What I'd do, would be firstly to ask my doctor what I should and shouldn't do, I mean I may want to eat a lot of things but the dotor may think it is a bad idea. Also, remember to be prepared in terms of medications, according to your doctor's instructions. Don't take any aspirin, unless your doctor tells you to do so this particular week (which I am pretty sure he won't), for example. My friend's father used to take aspirins for his heart, and no one told him to stop prior to the heart surgery, so he kept taking them, and that made his blood thinner and he had a major bleeding during the operation. But he was OK finally, he just made it tougher for the doctors! As for other things, I would meet with friends and go out and have a relaxed holiday-style week, but taking care of myself (not to get tired or sick). I would go to the beach, have nice food, get a relax-massage, read books, things like this. Also, I'd pray for my operation to work well.
- Get yourself a good tan, luv...yeah be a beach bum like the Great Kahuna. Forsake the comforts of your luxurious hotel and rough it up in the sandy shores of an undeveloped beach. I wish I could join you but I'd send my stand-in, Phoebe Cates, instead. You two have a nice time now, you hear! Seriously, luv, you're gonna be just fine. Nowadays, open heart surgery is not as risky as it sounds. You ought to know; you're in the medical field. You be a good patient, luv, and let those beautiful nurses pamper you, okay? Good luck, PT. My love and prayers are always with you.
- however you want it within the allowable activities. a friend had one too last February in Manila. He came home to the province after for some rest. And he's back to Manila now and back to work in Jose Reyes Hospital. You will be fine. Have faith.
- First two days, I will visit every familiar place in Manila that is dear to me. The last two or three days before the operation, I will stay at home and receive visitors as well as enjoy the quiet of my atis tree, while drinking a beer or two. But one thing I'd never do: Watch this series titled "House" and see how he and his team gets it wrong the first time around, fumbles and gambles with their patient's life, and brings in inconsequential personal stuff at critical moments, such as discussing whether there was success in securing the medical director's panty.
- Spend your day/week with whomever and wherever you know that will make you happy. I wish you well with your Heart Procedure. Millions of prayers are coming your way. May you have a safe trip back to the Philippines. Take care dear. =D
- You'll most likely be fine with modern medicine and procedures. But, you should talk to your Mother and Father. They need to know that you love them and vice versa, regardless of the outcome. There's no need for party's, skydiving trips or volcano jumping at this point.
- If there is any legal matter to do and you haven't done yet, better attend to it now. Make sure everything is in order and make yourself prepared spiritually. Maintain fit. Calm down, have high hopes and everything will work out fine.
- Good luck with that PT! I would probably spend the 4 days with friends and family. Go back to places I haven't stayed or been to in a really long time. And spend a day reflecting on my life.
