HELP!!!!!!!! Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty (nose job)?
So check this out, i am going to have a rhinoplasty/septoplasty surgery performed on me soon. I would like to know how much pain will i be going through? from 1-10 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest what kind of pain would i be expecting. Also how long is recovery? Will i be ready to go out and do activities such as go to the beach and stuff in a month after surgery? Any other information will be great. Thanks for your help.

- "Considerable swelling and bruising can be expected. The nasal cavities may or may not be packed, and a piece of gauze is taped underneath the nose to absorb blood. Postoperative care includes frequent changing of this gauze (roughly every hour or so) and after 1 to 2 days, the excess bleeding normally stops and the inner nasal packing may be removed. The following day, saline irrigations of the nasal cavities are often advised, and it is only now that a patient is allowed to gently blow his/her nose. After 1 to 2 weeks, patients are allowed to blow their nose normally. Patients typically regain about 80% of their energy one week after surgery, and make a full recovery after one month." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septoplasty
- I only had a septoplasty and I was miserable. My pain level, when not on meds, was about an 8. Make sure you take your medicine on schedule and don't miss a dose or you'll regret it. My pain was worst my 2nd and 3rd day after surgery. Your nose will be sore for a long time, at least a month, but it won't bother you unless you touch it or it gets bumped somehow. Hope this helped, I know I just had a septoplasty but I at least wanted to give you an idea of what that is like. Good luck!
