Anyone here ever had surgery on their labrum (shoulder)?

How long did it take you to recover and how did you do it all those weeks without your arm? I am left handed and I gotta have the surgery on my left shoulder so this is gonna suck! And I will be out of work of course. How long until you were able to go back to work?

  1. Unless you do manual labor you will be back to work in a week
  2. It depends on if they had to do a biceps tenodesis or not. If they did, you might be restricted from carrying anything in your hand for up to 6 weeks and PT could be anywhere between 3-4 months. A simple labral repair without tenodesis could have you back to a desk job in about 1-2 weeks and PT might last 2-3 months. If you are required to lift on your job, I would expect to be out at least 2-4 months unless you can do light duty.
