What is this thing floating in my cat's eye?
My cat has this white thing floating around in her eye. It dosent seem to hurt or bother her in any way, and she has sight in it. She is around 1 year and a few months old, and i know it is not a cataract, because it literally moves around when she blinks or looks around. But its UNDERNEATH the eye, like in the fluid part, because when she turns to the side, you see the eye, the fluid stuff, the white thing, then the outside of the eye. Does anyone know what this might be? It's also shrinking. It got kinda big, then the vet gave me some drops to put in her eye, and everyday since it's gotten smaller. He thinks it's FIP but she dosent have symptoms............ Oh yea, I forgot to mention, she is an indoor only cat in a single cat household. She's our only baby. One more thing, to the person who said it might be medication, I just gave her Advantage Flea medicine on Tuesday the 21rst, and the white thing popped up on Wednesday the 22nd. Could the Advantage cause the white floaty thing?

- VET! Quick! cataracts?
- probably some kind of tissue resulting from scarring, if the cat has ever been in a cat fight. It may also have resulted from some medication or poison (cats eat houseplants).
- My vet thought my kitty had FIP too. Let me tell you that vets are wrong 70% of the time. They thought my kitty had FIP because she had a white spot on her eye and was throwing up a little. Right now she is jumping and playiing and is very healthy. I was so angry at the vet because she got me devestated for no reason and kept insisting my kitty has FIP. If you want to know if she has FIP or not, check if her belly is swelling up. loss of appetite, lethargy, and she starts twitching or spazzing. I'm 99% sure your kitty does not have FIP, dont beleive the vet. And the white thing in her eye could be a worm of any kind or she hit her head and got a blood clot in her eye. And if the drops are working then there's nothing to be worried about. If it comes back, THEN there's something to be worried about. Good luck!
