weight loss regimen for female, bmi 40.1?

I am an 18 year old female with a bmi of 40.1 (5'6, 250lbs). I am happy with the way my body looks, however, today I learned that I am developing arthritis in my knees due to my weight and that really effing scares me. I am looking to lose around 80-90 lbs, still "overweight", but out of the danger zone. I am open to all reasonably affordable suggestions, but I am not looking to be b**ched out about my weight. most of the excess weight is in my stomach, but also in my thighs and a bit in my butt. I would like to do my best to keep the fat in my backside and breasts, but I understand this is probably somewhat unavoidable. thank you ahead of time! also, at the moment, I cannot put tons of money into this. a gym or group membership, a book, a dvd, vitamins, acupuncture, etc are within reason, but options like surgery and pills like alli and others are a bit out of my range.

  1. go on Biggest Loser
  2. What you can start with is by not drinking any pop, and go on a low carb diet. Try to eat 5 small portion meals instead of 3 big meals. Remember, try and stay under 28 grams of carbs a day.
  3. Walk-take a walk 10 minutes 3 times a day or 30 minutes at a time. Work up to this if you can tolerate it at first. If you have a dog take them for a walk (or have them walk you) If you can join a YMCA/YWCA, they have low income memberships, they have water aerobics (great for arthritis) and no one can see you under the water if you are out of step. Swimming would be the best since it is low impact (joint friendly) you can even walk in the pool and still get the benefit from the low impact.
  4. you can lose the weight you want by maintaining strict portion control aka counting calories. I have the same knee problem and was told swimming or water exercising but that's not always practical. I struggled with overeating and when I got that aspect under control I was amazed at the weight loss without alot of exercise. Good luck!
  5. dont worry this aint spam go to livestrong.com and go to the daily plate sign up it will tell u how many calories u must eat. also start walkin. Remember walking burns just as many calories as running it just takes more time good luck. oh yea also remember dont worry bout bmi its complete bs.
  6. Look, for starters I think the easiest thing to do it cut down on junk, sodas etc and starting eating 3 healthy meals per day (& and snacks). Doing at least 30mins of exercise a day, even if its just a walk is going to help. I use this weight loss forum and there is TONNES of weight loss advice there: http://www.celebrity-diets.org/forum/ Youd find it really beneficial.
