1 week ago i had an arthroscopic surgery done on my right knee and 11 months ago i had an ACL reconstruction done on the same knee, well the scope was done on tuesday of last week and when i came to from anesthesia my calf was hurting and it didn't go away and it hasnt got better my calf, shin, ankle and foot are swollen and all around my ankle is turning purple and red my knee doesn't even hurt and i can bend it about 90 degrees but i cant raise my foot up because i get a really sharp pain in my calf muscle and trying to walk is almost unbearable im talking it hurts bad , i tried calling orthopedics but of course my doctor is on Vacation and the other doctor hasn't called back , im 30 years old and im a U.S Marine so honestly im not much of a baby about pain but this seriously hurts and im getting worried cause it seems like its getting worse. and nothing like this happened from my last surgery.

  1. You could have a blood clot, which could be fatal, i would go to the emergency room right away! I'm not joking!
  2. yes you should go get that checked out, something is not right the first is correct about it may be a blood clot, and that's very serious, i would go to the emergency room and i don't tell ppl that often
  3. Call 911 and have them pick you up from home... Blood clots in the leg cause swelling, pain, increased warmth and redness. The classic symptoms of such blood clots are: * Swelling * Tenderness or pain over a vein * Redness * Sharp, shooting pain when the foot is being flexed * Warm sensation * Dull, aching throb in the calves, especially when the person is walking. * Widening or dilation of the surface veins. This can lead to some very serious complications and blood clots that are formed deeper in the veins can break away and become an embolus or a traveling blood clot. This embolus can travel and get lodged in the lung and this condition is known as the pulmonary embolism. May God give you a quick recovery.
  4. best option try to get another doctor and tell him about your condition.I had an arthoscopic surgery on my right knee too on 29july2008 but i didnt had those symtoms which you had maybe u over stressed it?
