  1. I hope that the therapist took you to a place where they could observe you during whatever sport you are involved in. Without seeing that it would truly be impossible to know if you have totally recovered. If you still have an inhibitory response in the knee you will create more torque in the lower back. It is possible that the brace is causing it but to me the more likely problem is that the knee is not really ready for whatever you are doing. What kind of strengthening program are you on? It should be a program for the entire leg not just the knee and must include the hamstrings for any real recovery. If they have not worked the hips, hamstrings, and lower leg along with the back and abdominals then the program was not complete. One doesn't injure just one part of the body but a series of areas. So recovery must also include all areas that would be affected. If this was not done then you need more therapy to correct the deficits. Talk to the therapist.
  2. It's more than likely from the way you have to walk with the knee brace,, just like if you hurt your foot and it causes you to limp often you will feel back pain. I walk with a slight limp sometimes due to a spine injury and I almost always end up having some back pain when it happends
