Surgery for deviated septum--how invasive? Recovery time?

I have horrible sinusitis; i rinse my nose every day w/ saline and continually out comes all this green, yellow and whitish gunk, and until i do I'm miserable, and often i can't even get it all out and am still uncomfortable afterwards. Part of the problem may be a deviated septum that impedes air flow and drainage. How difficult is surgery for this; what is the recovery time; any complications possible, etc.? I also had a rhinoplasty 3 years ago....would that complicate matters?

  1. Hi. My husband had surgery for a deviated septum. He went in at 9 am, and we were home by 3 pm. It took less then a week to recover, and the only rough thing was the packing that they put in your nose. It really wasn't that bad at all. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Good luck, and best wishes for a fast recovery :-)
