Is this true when getting breast reduction surgery?

I'm really deeply thinking about getting breast reduction surgery.I am a 42E bra and most likely still growing since I'm only 19.I really want small breasts because I know I'll feel better.I wanted to know if it's true that you can't breastfeed your child if you've had the surgery.I really want to have children in the future, but is this really true?

  1. You should reconsider. You'll be getting rid of some very attractive assets.
  2. My friend had a reduction about 5 years ago. About two years ago she had twins and did have issues breastfeeding. As you can imagine, the small pin holes that the milk exits at lac down are readjusted in the surgery and there is just no way around it for some women. It's really a personal choice for you. Just think one day when you do get pregnant, those suckers are going to be cumbersome anyway when you try to breastfeed. So, I guess if I were you, I would take the less of the two evils and get a reduction.
  3. No it is not 100% true. You CAN breastfeed after a reduction. http://www.bfar.org has more information. So does http://www.breasthealthonline.org
  4. Last month my mother underwent a breast reduction operation and she's really happy with the results. In my state a there are certain cosmetic surgeons that are better than others. I'd consult cosmetic surgeons in your area and see what sort of success they have had with past clients. http://www.plasticcosmeticsurgerycenter.com They should be able to answer your questions.
  5. they do not remove the nipple anymore, so everything remains intact. i'm getting a breast reduction in about 15 days. when i went for my consultation, the doctor told me there would be no reason why i wouldn't be able to breast feed post surgery, but he couldn't guarantee that i could breast feed now anyway. i look at is as, i'd rather remove my back/neck pain, shoulder grooves, etc, and feel better overall than needing to breast feed. to me, the trade off is very well worth it.
