gallbladder surgery?
Hello all not the best topic I would like to ask about but I just have gallbladder surgery on 8/28/08 and my recovery is slow but coming along. The question I have is my bowl movements are not normal anymore I find since my surgery I have only had 2 or 3 and i was wondering in anyone could tell me when i may get my normal movements back just worried cuz i really am not haven any and how long did it take most of you to recover.Thanks for the help

- If you are using pain medication it will constipate you. Use some over the counter medication, ask you pharmacist, he will recommend the best one.
- Yes pain meds will constipate you. Also you may not be walking around as much as you usually do which can slow things down. If the doc did your surgery laproscopically then they filled your tummy with lots of gas so they could maneuver in there. All that gas could be pressing on things giving less space for things to move out. Plus I think the gallbladder does aide in digestion. Give your body some time to get used to its new condition.
