PRK Or ICL? have you gotten ICL?please read?
i live in san siego and i have visited lasik plus, tlc laser center, 2020 san diego lasik institute and clearway. well i not a candidate for lasik my corneas are L 460 R 640 thick. Dr. Tony H. Pham from The san diego lasik institute thinks i should do PRK because it will also correct my astigmatism. Dr. Sandy T. Feldman from clearview thinks i would be better off with ICL and with a small amount of PRK on my left eye to correct my astigmatism she also would do just the PRK but she says that i would be better off with the ICL because of my corneas bein too thin. Dr. Tony H. Pham was telling me it would be better to just treat me with the PRK instead of PRK on left eye plus ICL. he also told me that if i really wanted to he would also do icl im just really confuse. PRK is cheaper that ICL but they both have there pros and cons. am male 23 years old, i need one of these surgeries to meet a job requirement with the federal gov. I was told about possibility of glaucome , cataracts ,with ICL and clowdness in my eyes. both of these Doctors seem very knowlable but one leans more toward PRK and the other more toward ICL dont know what to do but i really need to get it done as soon as possible help. if you have any experience with ICL please let me know what you think OD -5.74 ds -1.07 DC x 179 @ 12.5 mm (6.00 rx calc) W.F diam (mm) 6.75 high order 4.6% eff. blur (d) 5.23 Rms Err.(u) 8.60 OS -4.20 DS -2.61 DC x 175 @ 12.5 mm (6.00 rx calc) W.F diam (mm) 6.75 high order 5.7% eff. blur (d) 5.74 Rms Err.(u) 9.44

- I will probably not be of much help with this. I have had 50 eye operations. I was born with cataracts, then developed glaucoma, then my right eye died. Then my cornea in my left eye began to thicken from all the operations. I had an IOL implant, which I think is different than what you want. Then I had a cornea transplant, well five of them, which all rejected. Then I had the IOl removed so I could have a special plastic cornea implant, which does not reject. I do not know but it sounds like you should go see a cornea specialist. Get all the opinions you need, they are your eyes. I'm only 26. There are possible complications with every surgery, unlikely, but possible. My daughter was born with cataracts in both eyes and had her IOL completly removed in both eyes and then around the age of two she had artificial IOl implants in both eyes. She has had 5 surgeries and had a greater risk for glaucoma because I have it. But she is three now and has had NO complications from the surgeries. I suggest you get even more opinions.
- I know a woman who had PRK and said it took her eyes about a month to get better completely but she is very happy with it. I don't know ICL, not sure what that is. I had Lasik recently at Lasik MD and the opthalmologist did not recommend me for the regular lasik and told me that I should go with their new laser called a zyoptix instead because it removes less from the cornea. I did that and it worked out for me. I had astigmatism too, -6.5-1.25 and -6.5-2.0 Every doctor likes their own technique best. I suggest getting even more opinions and researching both methods online also before deciding.
