Why do people's eyes look all wiggly after they've had cataract surgery?
If you look at their pupils it appears that something keeps moving/reflecting light even after their eyes stop moving. I've noticed this about various people/actors but it was only after someone I know had cataract surgery that I started noticing it on them. Does the new lens perhaps float around in there? Wouldn't that annoy the people who have to look through them all day?

- Yes, for those who are aware, looking for it, there can be a momentary "flash" of reflection off the front surface of the implanted lens in pseudophakic eye, as it moves, under certain conditions of lighting. It's not apparent to the wearer, and the lens is not loose. It's the movement of the eye relative to the observer and the relevant light source that matters, The implant has different curvatures than the natural crystalline lens, being much thinner and of a different refractive material.
- You are seeing a reflection from the Itraocular implant that was inserte to make up for their not having their natural crystaline lense anymore. They see nothing funny at all, and it is kind of a cute sparkle in some. After a couple of months they calm down a bit, but they are secured in there and do not float around, it is just a very high diopter of lense in there and it does reflect light that you and I can see if we look for it. It is true!
