Is it a good idea to buy a home laser hair removal product?

- I wouldn't do it because laser hair removal can cause a number of problems even when used by experienced, licensed professionals. The treated area can become red and swollen for up to 3 days after the procedure. If you are prone to scarring, it can even cause scarring in some cases. Especially darker skin may develop blisters and these blisters can get infected and leave scarring. The skin around the area treated may appear darker than the treated area that may last up to 4 months. There may be a change in the color of any beauty spots or moles on the treated area. These are additional possible side effects: http://www.laserhairremoval-info.com/side-effects These are all reasons to leave this to a licensed professional ONLY

- Probably not. I've read about it, but never known anyone who used it. Knowing what is involved in a medical laser I'm skeptical that something like this could do the same thing. Do some research online and make an informed decision unless you have $200 to scatter to the winds. http://www.4laserhairremoval.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1015 http://www.amazon.com/Epila-Laser-Hair-Remover-Eliminator/dp/B000Q6PHO2
- You should definitely research the products available. I saw on Rachael Ray that there is new professional grade product called Silk'n. It has been cleared by the FDA as of May. The FDA approval is hard to get, so I'm guessing that this product, if used correctly could be worth the purchase. Here's 'the FDA article regarding Silk'n approval. http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS85502+24-Mar-2008+BW20080324 Sephora sells a product called the No No that also boasts hair removal ability. It's around $250. Silk'n is about $800. Check out places like makeupalley.com; icompact.com and http://www.bellareviews.com to see if they've done product reviews.
