Can bloating cause nausea?

Hello, on Tuesday I had laparoscopic gallbladder surgery (completely removed) and now it is Saturday and the pain is gone, however, since Thursday I have felt like I have air in my throat and like I have to burp but I can't. The air in my throat almost feels like a gag reflex, it's weird, and it's making me nauseous. Do any of you get bloating so bad it gives you nausea? I don't really feel the bloating in my stomach as much as I do in my throat. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this bloating (or whatever it is)? (I get it after every time I eat). Thanks!

  1. you might want to try and take some sort of antacid. and yes, when i'm bloated i usually feel nauseous as well, sometimes if you drink ginger ale it will make you burp out some of the gas, or you might just need to go to the bathroom to feel some relief.
  2. I haven't had gallbladder surgery, but i do have stomach problems and when i am bloated i feel very nauseous. This feeling you are feeling is probably a type of reflux and should go away, if it doenst i would ask your doctor. You may be able to just take an antacid like tums but i would def. ask your doctor first.
