How can I reduce bruising after having had foot surgery?
I just had bunion surgery last week, and am doing much better, but the back of my foot is all purple. What can I do to make that discoloration go away? the operation was a week ago. would ice still make a difference? have been elevating it. i did ice and elevate it at the beginning.

- elevation and local heat with the docs approval.
- savlon iliquid in the orange bottle bave in it /or salt water
- elavate your foot and ice it
- It's too late to prevent further bruising. If ice had been applied at the beginning it would have helped. The damage has already been done. It will just have to gradually go away on its own. sorry
- ARNICA ointment will speed up recovery of bruises. Check in health food/vitamin store. They may also have Arnica for internal use. Also Zinc 50 mg & Nucleotides speed healing after surgery or illness. Good luck
