do you think it's ok for a teenager to consider getting liposuction?

well, i'm fourteen and i'm not happy with the way i look at all. i've been trying to lose weight, but nothing seems to work for me. i eat healthy and i exercise daily. i just don't know what's wrong. and the worst part about it is, i've been thinking about weight loss surgery as my only option. but i know it's too risky. and i sure know my parents wouldn't even care. please help me. your advice would be so appreciated.

  1. Not at all. Totally unacceptable. If your healthy eating and exercise doesn't work, reduce your caloric intake a little bit. I don't think a plastic surgeon would even allow the surgery to go ahead even if it were a plausible and acceptable option.
  2. Hell no. The last thing you need at your age. All you need is exercise and possibly to eat less. If you are really getting a lot of exercise, just cut down slightly on the amount you eat. You need to get yourself into good habits now, otherwise you will feel it when you get older. Do not have surgery.
  3. No, it's too early. I think you should wait until your body stops developing. Lipo is really dangerous. I think you should discuss it with your parents and doctors abotu it.
  4. Since you're only fourteen, I wouldn't do anything too extreme man... Keep exercising and don't give up bro... Dedication and hard work always pay off. Good luck.
  5. That is NOT acceptable. Doctor's will NOT allow you to have that kind of surgery. Now, here's the scoop: You may have something wrong with your Thyroid, or it could be a number of things. Keep Excersizing and working out. While you are doing that, you need to ask your parents, (or do it yourself) to set up a doctor's appointment and get your blood tested and see what could possibly be the problem. Next, talk to your doctor about seeing a Nutritionist, someone who helps you with your specific nutrition needs and who can give you advice on affective weightloss methods and tips. :D Good luck!
  6. i used to think the same thing. and at your age i would deff. not do that. your too young and your body isnt mature enough for anything that dramatic. cutting back the portions of food and not eating late helps most people. just eat the right portions. it doesnt matter if your eating healthy foods, you can still overindulge yourself. the biggest thing is that if you eat late you need to do some sort of exercise before you go to sleep.
  7. What do you eat, in what portion sizes, and how often? What sort of exercise do you do? I am in nearly the same situation as you, and today have begun a juice fast. It's healthy and will cleanse my body of toxins, enabling me to lose all that excess weight. I have also begun Pilates recently, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to tone and shape their body. Oh and PS: No, surgery at our age is not an option.
  8. Last fall my cousin underwent a liposuction procedure and she's really happy with the results. In my state a there are certain cosmetic surgeons that are better than others. I'd consult cosmetic surgeons in your area and see what they have to offer. http://www.plasticcosmeticsurgerycenter.com A local cosmetic surgeon should be able to answer your questions.
