How do I ask my parents for a nose job?

I think my nose looks OK from the front, but when I turn to the side I have this bump that I'm really self-conscious of. My appearance wouldn't drastically change or anything. Except that I'd have a better profile. However, I don't know how to bring this up to my parents b/c it is embarrassing. I think about my nose every day and all I would be doing is "shaving" down a little bone. Some people get nose jobs and look like a completely different person but I would just look like myself only a tad bit improved. :)

  1. HOW OLD ARE YOU? apparently you aren't even 18 yet if you have to ask your parents for one. Hold tight dude! a lot of people are self conscious about everything. You were made that way, and if it isn't really hurting you, just deal with it. psh. don't be so American!. what's next, a boob job? Oh... and you might want to ask michael jackson about nose jobs. He knows alot. lol. "hey mom... can i get my nose shaved down?" lmao. just learn to love your nose. George washington had to do that...
  2. Hi Trunk, well, that is a pretty hard question. First of all, it depends on how old you are and second, it is very expensive. Are your parents willing to pay $4,000-$6,000? And are you willing to go through pain for a while? Just you'll have to convice them how you feel and that it bothers you. Good luck ! :D
  3. IF IT HELPS I KNOW THAT ASHLEY TISDALE AND JESSICA SIMPSON HAVE BUMPS ON THERE NOSES AND ACTUALLY I KNOW THAT ASHLEY TISDALE DIDN'T LIKE HER BUMP ON HER NOSE UNTIL SHE NOTICED THAT HER FAV CELEB (JESSICA SIMPSON) HAD A BUMP ON HER NOSE TOO AND SHE LIKED THAT THEY BOTH HAD THAT IN COMMEN AND SO SHE GOT OVER HER SELF CONSCIOUSNESS TOWARD HER NOSE. BUT IF I HAD A PROB WITH MY NOSE I THINK I'D GO TO MY MOM AND TELL HER THAT I'M REALLY UNHAPPY WITH THE WAY MY NOSE IS AND ASK IF THERE WAS ANY POSSIBLE WAY THAT I COULD GET IT TRIMMED DOWN A BIT OR SAY THAT I COULD GET A JOB TO HELP PAY FOR IT OR JUST SOMETHING IDK.
  4. When I was younger I hated my nose. It's far from perfect, a typical "Italian" nose. I wanted so badly to have a nose job, but my parents couldn't afford it. It's a little on the big side (for my face) and it has a bump about 1/4 of the way down. One day, before I turned 18, I was over at my grandmother's house. Bored and looking for anything to do, I pulled out the family photo album. I noticed that my nose was all over those pages. On my grandmother and her nieces, my great grandmother and her 7 brothers and sisters. My great- great grandfather had the same nose, too. That's when I realized that it wasn't just my nose, it was my whole family's nose. My nose represents them, it represents my heritage. Now that I am older I love my nose. No one else outside of my family has my nose, and I couldn't be happier about that fact. My point is that our little imperfections are what make us us, what makes us bonded to something greater, our family. Embrace the nose you have, honey! Someone who loves you very much gave it to you.
