- I had a cousin with this problem. She always had to make sure that she had a good arch support in her shoes.
- I do too. I went to the podiatrist and they recommended Birkenstocks.
- See a podiatrist of course but I would suggest getting 'custom arches' made (they're called 'orthotics'). I've used them for years and have had no problems. Good Luck!!!
- Having these fallen arches results for lax muscles and tendons in your feet. While there is a surgical procedure to correct this, it really is only recommended in very very extreme situations. I would recommend orthopaedic insoles which are made from a mold of your foot. These can be placed in any pair of shoes for more comfort. Also, new balances may provide you with more comfort because they tend to be cut wider.
- Go to the Podiatrist and get insoles made.
- The suggestions for orthotics are good ones. Also ask the Dr for stretches and exercises. I had to have the operation on one foot after my arch went completely flat and it wasn't fun - 6 months in a cast and three months of that non-walking.
- I have a friend with flat feet, he gets special replacement soles.
- i had this when i was younger, go to the doctor and he'll give you plates that you put in your shoes that give your feet shape and you ware them for a while than you wont have flat feet any more.
- I also have flat feet, and I wear orthotics in my shoes. I've had them a long time and don't know the brand. They're hard plastic, sort of like a nylon, and it takes a lot of getting used to, but once you use them and your feet adjust to them, it's wonderful. I tried softer inserts, but they don't reallly work for me.
