I want to have a WEIGHT LOSS surgery, and need to find an Health Insurance Company "?"?

I am young and in savings I have about 20 Grand. I want to have a weight loss surgery and I believe it costs about 50 Thousand Dollars. I need to find an insurance company to help cover the costs. Would I choose a plan where I pay a high deductable?? Do I tell them immediately that I would like surgery, and which plan would be right for me? How does this work? I have never had insurance on anything before other than my home and my vehicle coverage. I am 25. Thanks in advance

The problem you will find is if you are a candidate for surgery, which in most cases is a BMI of 40 or greater, you will be over the height and weight guidelines of all companies that have plans that will cover the surgery. Your only option would be to get a job with group health benefits, and those health benefits would need to cover your surgery (many don't). They have to accept you and have to cover your surgery although there may be a waiting period.
