- RCA stands for right coronary artery. The total occlusion would have occured some time back. Most probably the region of heart muscle supplied by the blocked vessel is getting some blood supply from the branches of other vessels. That is why you are symptom free. Usually we do not recommend bypass grafting when your LAD (left anterior descending artery), which is the most important coronary branch does not have severe narrowing. Since the LCX (left circumflex) artery disease is already taken care of, you should be fine with continuos medical treatment. Please dont forget to take a healthy diet, avoid risk factors like smoking. Medicines given to you to prevent reocclusion of the stent should be taken meticulously. You also need regular follow up to detect any rare instance of restenosis (narrowing) of the stent.
