If I have this surgery to remove a complex (a least 5cm) cyst that has gone unchecked by sonorgram since October (will be rechecked this week).....then can I possibly lose weight after surgery? I go months, even a year or so, with a period because of this reoccuring cyst and so it has obviously caused a major hormonal imbalance. Is it typically common to lose a bit of weight? I was always very frail as a child and growing up and then when this happened I have gained a lot of weight in my lower abdomen...and nowhere else! I can't help but think this cyst is causing this. Anybody else out there share this problem...or had surgery and had some significant weight loss afterwards? Thanks and yes I do work out but a cyst permits hormonal imbalance so there is only so much I can medically do to prevent weight gain. I don't have pcos just one cyst i DO exercise regularly and do NOT eat bad foods, it's a chemically-induced problem. read the facts before you state some ignorant 'advice'.
