  1. Two totally different procedures for two usually very different reasons....gastric bypass.surgically reduces the size of your stomach..you literall can only eat a quarter of what you use to...and you lose tons of weight usually very quickly, my aunt had it done and lost 190 pounds in a year...it's permanent though..so big lifestyle adjustment..lipo spot reduces...they suck out the fat from your body, leaving behind for example smaller waist lines...smaller tushy..if you don't watch what you eat and exercise it comes back...it's not permanent....lots of bruising and medical stockings to wear...most people have it done in the thigh/bum and stomach areas..arms sometimes too just not as often.
  2. diskadvantiges is it be dangwarous. me maw-maw had it as twell as havey her jaw-jaw staplwed shut. her was in pain and it caused gweat priblems wit health. I twouldn't be butchered like gat.
  3. Disadvantage is you don't know the effect it will have on your health in the future...the bypass surgery tampers with your absorption of nutrients and that is the basic thing that makes us healthy or sick...what we absorb from our food...artificial nutrients are not the same...so just loose the weight normally...by exercising and eating a healthful diet...
  4. The gastric bypass is really bad idea. I would not suggest going through it. In a gastric bypass they remove a section of your small intestine which keeps you from properly digesting your food. This will cause very significant problems as you get older as it did my aunt. My aunt had a gastric bypass many years ago when she was 30 something...before my time. Anyway, from what I heard from my mom (my aunt is her sister) is that she did lose the weight and was back down to her normal weight. ...but as the years went by my aunt started gaining the weight back and now weighs more than when she originally had the surgery. Today she's in her late 60s. She's always tired and run down eventho she takes lots of vitamins. Almost everything she eats sends her running to the bathroom with diaherria (sp?), no matter how little she eats.
