call my doctor??
I have severe tondonitis in my ankle in the tendon that hold up my arch. I am almost completely flat footed on that side. I have been casted and booted my doctor and I are on our last strike before surgery. I am currently in physical therapy right now and I see her two times a week. I am sched. to see my doctor in two weeks but within the last two weeks I have been in pain most of the day but getting progessively worse by the end of the day. this morning and all day today I have been in a ton of pain and it is more swollen than normal. I don;t know if i should call him and let him know or just wait until my appointment. My physical therapist thinks he is going to have to do surgery on this. I did see my physical therapist yesterday and she mentioned that it was swollen and made a not of that. But it has gotten more painful since yesterday

- definitly go to the doctor
- Have you tried acupuncture? I had a similar problem and it helped reduce swelling and pain very very well. Also helped heal faster with no surgery involved
- Please call your doctor and get help if you dont get help right now then you might not be able to. Please e-mail me and tell me how it goes at sosemt2000@yahoo.com
- If your pain is getting worse despite PT, your condition certainly may be more problematic than what can be handled conservatively. It may be worth your while to have the PT touch base with the physician...but if you feel the need, there is certainly no reason you have to wait the two weeks. If you were staying the same, then it would be OK to wait...but the fact that you are worsening may warrant another follow up with your physician. If you were my paitient and you were truely worsening, I would encourage you to call the physician and would also call myself.
