- I haven't, but I've heard of it happening. This is because some of the people who receive this surgery don't change their lifestyles or eating habits, and the weight just comes back on. You need to start cutting calories a little bit and exercising a little bit more.
- The answer to your question is to research, research, research. It sounds corny, but this is so important. I had my surgery 11 weeks ago and have lost 53 lbs. It was NOT easy. I belong to a Yahoo group called Weight Loss Surgery Friends & Support. We are very gabby and willing to share our experiences so that people don't go into this surgery blind. I researched this for 5 years but still did not understand all it entailed. My brother had the surgery 5 years ago. He went from 410 lbs to 176 lbs in a little over 10 months. He is now around 210 lbs and much healthier than when he slipped all the way down to 176. He eats anything...I mean anything, just in MUCH smaller amounts than he did due to the limits of his "pouch". Are you young? Those people seem to recover quicker than us older people. Most of the people my age have been on a million diets/exercise programs in our lives. As you age the weight starts to take its toll on our bodies. Having the surgery and losing the weight will be the best thing I can do for myself. Good luck with the surgery and come join our group if you would like some support before or after the surgery.
