weight loss surgery in san diego - who does blue cross pay for?
Does anyone know a doctor in san diego or orange county that is in the blue cross network that does lapband or gastric bypass surgery. Id like to add Ive spoken to 3 well known bypass surgery centers here in san diego and none take blue cross- but blue cross would still pay $20,000 of $28,000 bill- but they told me if i could find a dr inside the blue cross network or a lapband/gastric bypass center who is bc network it would be covered 100%

- idk, but we have blue cross/blue shield and when our dr. mistakenly put the checkup under "weight issues" the insurance refused to pay any of it saying they didn't cover it. sooo.....you might have to call the company.
- Call Blue Cross, they would know for sure. I know trying to call BC is like asking for a billion dollars by sundown, but its the surefire way to know. Otherwise, I would call around to different doctors and see if they are in the network.
