I am thnkg of having rhinoplasty surgery at Thornbury or Claremont in Sheffield. Has anyone had surgery there? I am thinking of having rhinoplasty at one of the mentioned hospitals. I have had no recommendations and would love to hear from people that have already had the surgery, if they were pleased and how the experience was for them. I am also looking to be recommended a surgeon at either of these hospitals and so would love to hear from you if you are particularly thrilled with a surgeon, or not. How much should nose surgery (rhinoplasty) cost? I went to see a plastic surgeon/ENT and surgery would cost $4,875 plus the anesthesia surgical center price of $2,390 for a total cost of $7,265. Just wondering if this is too high or lower. The doctor is board certified ENT and board certified plastic surgeon, and the site of course uses a board certified anesthesiologist. The doctor and site are in nice communities in Woodbury and Plymouth, MN respectively. Maybe I should clarify in case any more "lesbos" answer, I have a really bad deviated septum, meaning I can't breath very well and it's been getting worse, too the point where I need some cosmetic surgery. And you can't tell someone just to live with something, life is too short. Jan, I'm not trying to be offensive, I just really want serious answers. I have to have both surgeries because My nose is so twisted up that it's not all covered by it, part of whet they have to do is cosmetic up on my bridge. I have to do it because it's getting more crooked, and harder to breathe. This one guy is the only guy that is certified to do both surgeries; the first person I saw sent me to him.

Is there anywhere in or near boston with good/cheap rates for plastic surgery or rhinoplasty? This is specifically for rhinoplasty: I've been looking everywhere for a good deal from a decent surgeon in the area and all the prices seem to range 6-7k. I remember a website I found a few months back with "only the better sugeons" in the Boston area and with much better prices. I saw one with a price of 4,000 and only required a down payment of 2,000. Does anyone know who that may have been? Or have info on the site I mentioned? I just had rhinoplasty surgery, how long until my nose settles down? I didn't bruise up or anything. And its been 10 days today and the doctor said that I am healed, but a lot of people keep saying im still swollen and that my nose will get smaller. Is this true???

Have you ever had a nose job (Rhinoplasty) or any facial plastic surgery? I have been wanting a nose job since a very young age. My nose is not huge but it's not small. And I am not very happy about the shape. I don't have any bumps but it turns up at the end. I have never had anesthesia and am scared b/c I read so many horror stories. Hi, I had a nose surgery (Rhinoplasty) done last June, my nose is still swelled up, what can I use?? above the ball of my nose and the left nostril is still swelled up a little and it causes my nose to appear bend to the right. Can i sue my rhinoplasty doctor for messing up by not making it the way i wanted and collapsing my nostril? I went in for a rhinoplasty surgery about a year ago. I had no trouble breathing i just wanted my nose tweeked a bit. The doctor was board certified and i had checked on his credentials. I had trouble breathing shortly after the surgery. The surgeon said to wait and it will become better. I had visited him again and he gave me a nasal spray that did not work. I went in to a well known surgeon for a second look. He looked at my nose and told me that my nostrils were partialy collapsed making it harder to breath due to excess removing of cartilge. As for appearance he made one nostril higher than the other and made my tip a totally different way than he had explained to me before the surgery. I am not happy with my surgery. I need a doctor that specializes in rhinoplasty revision. Is there anything i can do legally to get him to pay for the revision. WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?
Can you get Rhinoplasty for free or at a much cheaper cost if you are a surgery "guinea pig"? i have heard of a program in NYC wich allows intern doctors to perform rhinoplasties with the supervision of their attending MD at a much cheaper cost or even free, but the patient can not sue if anything comes out terribly wrong. I had septoplasty in '05 (to fix a deviated septum) and I could breathe better for awhile, but now it's been obstructed again for years. My right nostril is always stuffed up and I am having difficulty breathing. Hence the reason I started looking into nose doc's again. I didn't get rhinoplasty at the time. Now I am thinking while I get my nose fixed again (septoplasty), I would like to get the rhinoplasty (I have a protruding nose, large nostrils). I am doing online research by viewing local surgeons. A few I have found that seem like they know what they're doing are: Dr. Sam P. Most (in Palo Alto), Dr. Samuel Pearl (Mt. View), and Dr. Gary Friedman (San Francisco). Turbinate surgery and Rhinoplasty? Im having laser surgery to reduce my turbinates and he said if he gets in there while Im out and sees my deviated septum is bad hes gonna fix that too...I took off work thur to get it done and fri to recover i figured by monday Ill be fine for work...but now Im worried...Do you think ill be okay? Should I get rhinoplasty(nose surgery) done? have a pretty bad deviated nasal tip. Well okay, it's not horrible(I hope), but it sort of effects my breathing and I get sinus infections easily. It's not anything life-threatening and it doesn't happen ALL the time, but it's definitely NOT fun and I can only assume it has something to do with my off-center nose. Not only that, but I can't even look at myself in a mirror without crying or being depressed all day. I can't even bring myself to go outside! I want to know if I can ever: 1. get hit in the nose again 2. hit the matt nose-first again 3. get choked with an arm squeezing my nose I read on various sites that you should "avoid contact sports for at least six months", but I think they were talking about football, tennis and I'm not sure if boxing or submission wrestling would count. Does age really matter in wanting to get certain types of surgery? I posted a question a couple of days ago about the cost of rhinoplasty. I'm seventeen and one of my answers said that age doesn't matter, but I thought you had to be 21 in order to get it done without a parent/guardian's permission, which is going to be my only option, because my parents think its ridiculous that I want this and don't want to pay for any rhinoplasty or any plastic surgery.

Rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery for nose) questions? I want to know personal experiences as well as advice or suggestions on how I should proceed, please! I've had 3 rhinoplasty's. Yes... THREE! The worst part is I need another. I'm NOT one of those people addicted to plastic surgery, I swear. I just had bad experiences. 1st NJ: was for "vanity" reasons 2nd NJ: to correct her mistakes 3rd NJ: to correct the first 2 screw ups, this time it was by a different doc. I wasn't looking for a bargain, they knew exactly what I wanted, they agreed I needed corrections. Well.... he did correct the problems made by my 1st doc, but not completly & I look aweful! It's worse now then my original nose! I don't WANT a 4th nose job, who gets FOUR nose jobs? But I need one, what advice can you give me? Any one else out there have multiple nose jobs?

Can someone die/Is it possible for soemone to die during the surgery for rhinoplasty? If so(god forbid!), how? Plus, if so(God forbid!) Is there anyway to prevent it? Rhinoplasty recovery time, what can and can't I do after surgery? This summer I was planning to get the procedure done but I can only open up 2 weeks then I have to go to my college orientation for 2 days. I would then be home for another 2 weeks before I go to a ranch in Wyoming for a vacation. Would this schedule give me enough time to heal and still allow me to enjoy my vacation? I would really like to get the procedure done this summer, but if it comes down to it I geuss I could wait untill next summer. I havent had a consultation yet, I just want to see if I should pay for one now or if I should wait for a better time.
First day after Rhinoplasty.? For those of you who have had Rhinoplasty surgery before, what did you do to reduce swelling around the eyes,nose,etc? thanks.
Is it wrong to want rhinoplasty? I'm 20, and half -Asian which explains why I have a smallish nose from the side but it's slightly wider than average aquiline noses. I like most of my face except I think my nose is too small from the side and too wide from the front. I want to get it narrowed.... My mom is angry with me because she feels I'm risking my life for vanity, etc. She sent me emails about people dying during rhinoplasty surgery etc. But I still want it. In all honesty,some people say I'm very pretty now, but I think I'll be far more confident with a nose job. Then I wouldn't mind smiling in pictures and having different angle pictures. What do you think? Should I take my mom's advice and never get it or what

Runny nose since Sinus Surgery? Last year, I had 5 different surgeries on my nose from septoplasty, rhinoplasty, sinus surgery, cosmetic work...since then, my nose runs constantly...especially my right side. My plastic surgeon says it is just allergies and sometimes I take Clariton or Allegra D but nothing helps. My nose still runs especially when I talk a lot or eat or yawn. My family doctor won't tell me anything. Doctors around here are quacks. Does anyone know what I can take or do to dry me up? LOL! Thanks.

Plastic surgery for small noses? All I see is plastic surgery for rhinoplasty which is to make a big nose smaller.... Is there a procedure that will make my nose more pointy and give my face a profile? I think button noses are ugly and makes me look "inferior"...i can't really explain it, I think noses that are bigger than mine tend to be more photogenic and stronger....

Has anyone had ongoing pain after Rhinoplasty? I was assaulted about ten years ago and sustained a broken nose. I have had migraines ever since, so my family doctor referred me to a cosmetic surgeon, who in turn told me that even people who have had rhinoplasty may have severe, ongoing pain. I found that patronizing and upsetting as he refused to fix my nose despite the pain. My question is: has anyone had rhinoplasty for whatever reason and is experiencing more pain than before the surgery?

Is it ok to have rhinoplasty in Peru at 15 years? I'm 15 yrs old and this summer I'm having rhinoplasty. When I was little I used to play rough, and one day I accidently hurt my nose really bad. After that day my nose didn't look the same any more. So my mom finally let me have surgery, but I'm having it in Peru so I just hope if any of you know that if it's ok for me to have rhinoplasty in peru at 15. I hope so.
if I have to get sinus surgery/septoplasty what would be the best health insurance plan to go with? I am pretty sure I have a deviated septum and would need to undergo septoplasty. Assuming i have to.. what would be the best plan for me to go with. Keep in mind that I am 16 years old and would also like to get rhinoplasty along with the surgery to straighten the nasal bone out, most insurance companies considered this cosmetic is there any that do not? rhinoplasty question? I had septoplasty and endocscopic surgery done recently but I made a big mistake because I didnt get rhinoplasty along with it. I read some were that if you get rhinoplasty with septoplasty the insurance company would pay for the hospital and anesthesia fees. The middle part of my nose is bent to the right..I would like to get this corrected. My question is if I go to a ent specialist who is in my health insurance plan would I be able to get the ent to do the cosmetic operation and pay him for the surgery and have my health insurance pay for the anesthesia and hospital fees? I would assume I have alot better chance of getting some health insurance coverage since I am not going to a cosmetic plastic surgeon who is outside of my network.

What's the best way to find a specialist in rhinoplasty? I'm in Austin, TX and looking for a plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty. Are there any associations that "matter" more than others? For example, a friend said to only consult with surgeons who are members of the ADA; but many of the plastic surgeons I've found online aren't, but there's many who are members of the "American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery" and others similar to that. Do these matter? Are some "credentials" better than others, if so, which do I pay attention to? Thanks!
What's the best way to find the right plastic surgeon for rhinoplasty? I'm in the Austin, TX area and am about to start my search for a plastic surgeon for rhinoplasty. My friend who also had this procedure said I need to go to L.A. to get the best surgeon because they do plastic surgery procedures like a million times a day so they're the best/most experienced and practiced. But that would require a LOT of traveling hassles and I don't even know how to start looking/screening for the "right doctor", and trying to have this done in L.A. would just add to my confusion. Do I really need to go to L.A. to feel comfortable that I'm in the best hands, or are there doctors in the Austin area, or even Dallas or San Antonio (yes, that would involve traveling too but it's closer than California!) that are just as distinguished and on "that level"? Any advice on how to filter through doctors, what questions to ask, how to find the doctor who's right for me, etc.....pretty much any advice on this whole process would be great. Thank you!
