What is the consequence of not getting surgery on my knee? My doctor told me I had torn cartiledge in my knee. It was very painful for a few days and after resting it, it started to feel like I could walk and almost run normal without pain after a month or so. And after my 7th football game the pain in my knee is becoming, I wouldnt say too much, but hard to deal with. So essentially the pain is back. Can I do anymore damage on my knee? I still have about 12 more games left.

If your cartillage is repaired in arthoscopic knee surgery, shouldn't the doctor give you crutches? My grandma is known for medically crying wolf. Today, she had arthoscopic knee surgery. For weeks, she's been complaining about knee pain and limping in this crazy exagerrated manor. She was unable to have an MRI for a diagnosis, so they scheduled the surgery. Her boyfriend took her to the surgery, so we couldn't talk to the doctor afterward. Now, she's telling everyone that the doctor had to repair her cartillage during the surgery. But, she's walking fairly normally and was not given crutches or anything even for today. (She is in her 70s). What are the chances that this is legitimate? I don't want to ignore her if it's real, but I'm also tired of the games and don't want to encourage these lies... any insight?

Who is Anthony Kim? and does his game compare to Tiger Woods? This is the first I have heard of him. He's 22 and just won $1.2 million in the Wachovia Open. Tiger could not defend Wachovia because of knee surgery. Do you think he can hold his own against Tiger?
Post ACL surgery should I be worried (knee crushed in car accident)? It has been a year now since my surgery and I have been taking it easy on my knee for fear of ripping the auto graft. I have not been very active besides the 2 mths of physical therapy but I returned to work after 6 mths doing plenty of walking and lifting around the hospital. I have been medically discharged (it has been a year now) but now it is starting to act up on me. I tryed to go bowling and could not even make it through 2 games because my knee felt fairly wobbly and slightly painfull. I am getting freaked out because I still do not feel comfortable running and it pops as I bring it back and forth. I even still sleep with a pillow under my knee at night to rest it. I was so optimistic a couple of mths ago and now I feel like the graft didn't hold (its not even comfy to sleep on my side). Man this is frustrating should I be exercising more or just letting it heal? Is this at all normal? Any input? I am afraid of living the rest of my life as a cripple. Kevin
i had a knee scope like july 28, it's still hurting & its november. What do i do to stop the pain? it was a right knee scope. My knee went backwards in a basketball game, and i had surgery and the doctor told me it was going to stop hurting in a month. Obviously, he lied. What does he know? I want to give it my all in basketball season because this is my last year of playing.
Its been 6 months post-op from my ACL surgery (achilles allograft), and my knee is feeling great.? i'm able to squat 4x12, 250lbs. Running, cutting and turning feels normal. i've been kicking the ball around (soccer) on my own. there is no swelling afterwards. yesterday, i decided to round up some of my friends and have a friendly game. all went well and my knee feels strong. i'm able to pass the ball but i'm afraid to kick the ball with some power. should i not be afraid? especially when i take free kicks and i want to curve the ball i feel a bit insecure. should i hold off on it. or is it about time for me to start applying myself more and push my knee to kick harder? my doctor and therapist agree that after 10-12 months, i would able to play without the brace. is it possible that i play without the brace earlier then 10 months. my recovery has been exceptional since surgery. was running 2.5 months post-op. I desperately want to play soccer again but i dont' want to reinjury myself. what do you guys suggest? i am 25 years old. getting ready for fall men's soccer league. i still go to therapy once a week and practice soccer twice a week.
What's the best way to overcome a knee injury? i have a serious knee injury... a couple of monts ago i tore my ACL playing ball... Does any1 know how i can help myself get better and back into the game without resorting to surgery
How long does it take for a quad tendon to heal after surgery? And how long will I have to have rehab for? So in a hockey game this guy accidentally cut my knee with a skate and cut half way through the quad tendon and i had to get surgery. I really want to get back on the ice again but i dont know how long exactly

Should there be an asterisk next to the Lakers threepeat? Should there be an asterisk next to the Lakers threepeat of 2000, 2001, and 2002? The Spurs won the NBA title in 1999 and swept the Shaq-Kobe-Horry and Jackson coached Lakers 4-0, but then Duncan blew out a knee like in game #78 of the 82 game regular season in 2000 and had major knee surgery and didn't play in the 2000 playoffs. Also, in the 2001 playoffs and the 2002 playoffs in each of the Spurs last western conference round losses, Duncan's knee was giving out on him for the first time in each of those two seasons in 2001 and 2002 in the Spurs last round of the playoffs which led to the Spurs elimination from the 2001 and 2002 playoffs as Duncan hobbled around on one leg in those playoffs. Finally, in 2003, Duncan's knee was healthy again for the first time throughout the entire playoffs and the 2003 Spurs again beat the Shaq-Kobe-Horry and Jackson coached Lakers without much of a problem as the Spurs went on to win the 2003 NBA title. Duncan's knee = Lakers threepeat Explain 2004? Easy, the "Big Three" and Coach Pop all spent three consecutive years playing and coaching due to NBA preseasons, regular seasons, post seasons, international play in 2002 and 2003 to qualify for the 2004 Olympics. This led the "Big Three" in Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili and the USA assistant coach Popovich to all be fatigued by 2004 playoff time. Duncan's knee in the regular season in 2001 and 2002 after the 2000 knee surgery was just fine. It was just when the Spurs got deep into the playoffs, then Duncan could no longer run normally, could not jump, and was basically operating on one leg. It was a mistake for Coach Popovich to let his top 3 players play internationally so much in 2002 and 2003 offseasons, but then Coach Pop was coaching also in 2002 and 2003 internationally on Team USA. No Spurs player will play in the 2008 Olympics, not Tony Parker, not Manu, and not Oberto who all played for their home countries in the 2004 Olympics as did Duncan in 2004.
ive bought many sports knee braces for my torn acl, how can i get my game back i also had therapy? need help? i torn my acl a year ago, i didnt have surgery but i had therapy but i cant run the way i used to what can i do to get my game back or is there another solution, need help
Online games? Is there anywhere online where I can play surgery games? I've found a few open-heart surgery, knee replacement, hip replacement games, but I was wondering if there were others, like c-section games, exploratory surgery, etc...? This is the link for an open-heart surgery game, although it's no where near what the real thing is like http://www.abc.net.au/rollercoaster/games/games/s1307616.htm And this is the hip/knee replacement website http://www.edheads.org/
What should i do with my knee problem? I'm debatibng whether or not to continue rehab for my knee. I tore my meniscus twice and had two knee surgeries on the same knee. Its my senior year in football and i want to do everything i can to play every game. Should i try and suck up the pain and get a brace for it or keep doing rehab stuff until it stops hurting so much? The problem with that is my doctor said that no matter what I do my knee will hurt. I'm leaning more towards the sucking it up thing buts cus i missed most of my season last year because of my surgeries. I need an input from anyone.
when will Jasper(&Meeks) get back into the game? (Kentucky Wildcats)? Jasper is my favorite wildcat player and i haven't been able to see him play at all this season bc of a knee surgery. When do you believe he will be back out there?? I miss him. Meeks as well. Do you believe he will recover well?
Why does everyone hates penny hardaway? I always see negative stuff about him. There are players in the league who only average like 2 points a game but they don't get talked bad about like penny. He's 36 and had multiple knee surgeries what do people expect him to do? It seems like being one of the best in the 90s was the worst possible thing that could of happened to him.
Should I cut Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas? My fantasy bball team is 4 games ahead in 1st place. I have both Caron Butler (labral tear, hip) and Gilbert Arenas (knee surgery) on my roster. Should I cut either one of them and pick up a free agent (Mehmet Okur, Raja Bell, Ryan Gomes, Troy Murphy, Larry Hughes) or just hold on to them and hope for the best in the playoffs? My team has been winning without them, but I fear an upset in the playoffs.
Don't some teams feel stupid for passing up on Al Thornton? He did great in summer camp, and had good stats in his college career. He is known for being extremely athletic and passionate about the game. If I was the owner of the Kings I'd feel horrible. Especially after having Spencer Hawes have a critical knee surgery.
Whats the most random thing you know how to do? I learnt how to perform knee surgery from a video game.
Why will the Mavs show that Miami's championship was a fluke? The 2-3-2 format saved Miami's a$$ last year. Their sub-par performance this year makes that fact very clear. 1. You don't miss 35+ games for out-patient knee surgery. Shaq your being lazy. Your such a pre-madonna, now. 2. You don't abandon your team for things you should of taken care of in off-season. Your team, and the real Miami fans know the reason why you left Pat and I have to say you are a disgrace for it. 3. You don't bring back two dead weights. Payton and Zo should have been put to sleep this year. They are old, tired, and slow and holding back the team. They showed this last year. Why bring them back? Riley, you know you made a fatal error here. 4.Poor management resulted in chaos this year. I blame Pat Riley fully for not developing a back bone to kill Payton and Zo and not trading off Walker. ***You know you f***ed up, Riles, thats why you left. "I was a Heat fan last year. Yeah, last year when Miami actually TRIED to play some basketball.
A Knee Problem is troubling me, I was sitting on a beach chair? and when I got up I did not feel any pain or problem at all. I then traveled 2.5 hours to a red sox game and felt nothing wrong, came home and went to bed. Getting up for some water later I was thinking that My knee felt swollen and lo and behold it was! I have had a meniscus surgery on this knee before. The knee remained swollen to some extent until I was able to see my specialist, he thought that we should give it some time and see what happens. I felt a tightness on the top part of my calf muscle {like a rock tight} and the swelling remained but was not as prounounced. After two weeks I went back for a cortisone shot and it seems that I still have a bit of fluid on the outside top of the knee. I have no pain at all and my knee is strong but I do not feel comfortable bending it with any weight on it. Bending is very important to me as I have had a ruptured disk previously and must lift with my legs. I work as a chef and my time on my feet is considerable. Any ideas?? hey any P.T's can you give any insight
Can i get back to the game after my OP? I'm going for my Ligament reconstruction surgery soon... May i know, after my rehabilitation, can i get back on court to play ball? Can i play to the fullest? Will i injured my knee again?
Fantasy Football - Start Ricky Williams or Cadillac Williams? Ricky Williams is having an o.k. season. He is playing at home vs the Patriots. Ricky did well vs Patriots in the first game. Cadillac Williams should be playing in his first game of season coming off knee surgery at the Lions. Lions rush defense is terrible. Who would you start and why?
hoops kenny has his contract up for renewal. Team offered 3? The season has 32 game, last season hoops appeared in only 12 games because of knee surgery. which contract would you take & why 700g plus 5g for every game he plays 600g plus 10g for every game he plays 1million with a penalty of 25g for every game he misses
Older PC Game name?? Well this game was out in late 90's. We played it in school. But in the game you are a doctor. You can do surgery's on knee's or for an anuerism. You change the patients IV and can give him blood, etc. It was neat I guess. But if you mess up, there is a man that talks to you in an office and calls you a "quack". I think one word in the title of the game was "occupation" I'm not for sure, its been awhile. Anyways I'm just trying to find the game name.Any help will be appreciatted. Thanks ;)

Knee Injury? i recently got arthroscopic surgery on my knee to remove plica on the inside of my knee. i finished rehab and i'v been back to normal routine lifting weights perfectly fine. i recently joined rugby and i had my first game. the day after my game i had the worst pain on the OUTSIDE of my knee. i play on the scrum and my knee has not been exposed to that type of "pressure" i guess you can say. i can barely bend my 90 degress without any pain. it is extremely painful does anyone have an idea of what it might be??
Is surgery necessary for a torn ACL? Last summer, I sprained my knee pretty badly during a soccer game. It was diagnosed as a knee sprain, however, till this very day, my knee still feels out of alignment. I now believe that I may have initially torn my ACL. My question is if I should go with surgery to correct the problem, or will I be able to leave an semi-active life without it?
Quiet Activities With A 8 Year Old Girl? I am having knee surgery soon. In the meantime and of course after the operation I am pretty confined to sitting around with ice on my leg. My 8 year old grandaughter lives with me. What kind of activites are good-besides Board Games and the obvious, reading, etc., can we do together that don't require much physical activity? Thanks.
I just had surgery on my acl, I need advice.? So I recently tore my acl during a soccer game during the club season. By the time I had my surgery it was 5 months until the high school season started. I'm the best returning player and it will be my senior season, so it's really important to me. I was just wondering if any of you know of someone who has successfully completed physical therapy in less than 6 months? And is it more likely for my to tear my acl again in the same knee? Any information about acl and knee rehab would be appreciated.
Peyton Manning SURGERY!?!?!? I just read and heard on the news, literally, 20 minutes ago (it's 10:45) that Peyton Manning had a bursa sack removed from his knee!?! The team's reps call the surgery routine but the knee had been bother Peyton since Feb. This is the same thing that held Marvin Harrison out of 12 games! I guess, to make a question... being that I've never had a sports related injury, is this a normal thing?
any one giving away free runescape accounts? i currently got knee surgery beacause of a soccer injury and im stuck in the hospital fro a while. i need somthing to do on my laptop and heard of a game called runescape. if thers anyone that has anaccount they dont use id appreciate it they could donate it.thanx
I had ACL surgery 2 years ago...? The recovery wasn't successful, right now my doctor told me that I need another surgery because some cartilages inside the knee has some damages and the, and the ACL itself that was resonstructed has a tear. Furthermore my doctor told me that my knee wouldn' be that as normal as it would be, because of the two ACL surgey that was done. Speaking truthfully as an athlete, I was crushed! An athletes worse nightmare is not to be able to play the game he/she loves... Is there a possibility I could come back playing? :(
How can i improve my volleyball game? i want to improve my volleyball game, both physically and mentally.. what are some things i can do?? im power btw. i really want to up my game for next season.. i only have may, june, july, and august. i want to be prepared and the the best shape of my life!! i'm going to two volleyball camps this summer, but i need more than that. what are some drills i can do to improve both my focus, and physical shape? **i injured my knee last season, and just got surgery about a month and a half ago, so i can't jog or do suicides YET -- but i will be able to, so if you have excersises for both now, and then when i can do more intense workouts that wouuld be great. i already do a 20 minute core workout, along with physiotherapy(for my knee), and i started a yoga workout i found in a magazine. i also walk for 30 minutes on the days i do yoga. oh and i'm working out my triceps as well. please be specific with the excersises!! websites would be fine too! thanks!serving tips are welcome!
Do you Think the Lakers Have a Chance of Coming Back ? Im a hardcore lakers fan and ive seen every single game they played and trust me they are so banged up right now from Injuries, I dont know if people realize it , it started kicking in for them when they were 15 games over the 500 mark and it started going downhill for them untill kobe started to takeover and averaged 40 + points. Look at the list Kwame Brown : Sprained left ankle Sore ankle Sprained ankle - out 3 to 4 weeks Shammond Williams: Abdominal strain Vladimar Radmanovic : Right shoulder separation, out 8 weeks Sprained right hand Strained right quad Kobe Bryant : Sprained right ankle Knee surgery Luke Walton : Sprained right ankle Lamar Odom : Tear in left shoulder Sprained right knee - out 3-6 weeks Maurice Evans : Sore right knee Chris Mihm : Right ankle surgery - out indefinitely Sprained right ankle Sore right shoulder Only healthy players right now are smush, andrew, farmar, sasha, now tell me why kobe shouldnt shoot, thats why they are doing bad in the playoffs, If I were them Id let the suns win and try to get a lot of rest and get healthy for next year.
???...What are the sports that are the easiest to sustain an injury...??? The first three sports that came to my mind are... no.3 Basketball Ankle and knee injuries are part and parcel of the game... ( i had both, sprained my ankle NUMEROUS times and had knee surgery once...) no.2 Boxing Brain injuries, cuts... AND THE NO.1 CONTENDER IS... American Football- Concussions are waay common!!! And many football injuries are permanent... Deaths are not unheard of....
I tore my ACL and have alot of pain still..after surgery? Okay in august of last year i tore my ACL during the second basketball game of the season..i had surgery to repair it in january..btw it was a complete tear or my ACL and maniscuss..i was released to run in june aslo quit therapy in june..i still cant run i get extreme pain the front of my knee and it will hurt for days after..i also still dont have all of my extension back..when im doing yoga i can get on my knees because of the pain as well...is this normal or should i go back to the doctor?
What did i do to my knee??? I hurt my knee 2 days ago during a soccer game. normally i play mid which is more runnign but i pace my self more. know i'm playing forward so its just standing there for bit the all out sprinting for a minute or two. and after playing forward my knee started really hurting. that might be why it hurts. Also i genetically have bad knee heels ankles etc. btu since its summer i'm nto ever wearing shoes (asides from soccer) so i dont get the arch support i need. what do u think caused this and what shud i do??? plz don't say go to the doctor. i've considered it but i dont want to be told there is somethign very wrong and i need surgery or whatever. (yea i kno, i'm a wuss) oh yea, it hurts bad when i walk, not too bad when i run tho. and it kinda tingles when i'm just sitting.
Can anyone suggest a good knee brace for playing football? I play high school football and am wondering if anyone can recommend a good knee brace or sleeve that I can use while playing. I was out all of last season with a torn ACL and meniscus. i have had surgery and have also completed rehabbing the knee. However, I would like to expirament with wearing a brace to give the knee a little extra support. Unfortunately, the one I currently use would fall off during a game. So any suggestions? EDIT: Maybe I should clarify. I tore both but the ACL tear was slight enough that I didn't need surgery on it. Just the meniscus. I am fully medically cleared to play football.
What are your thoughts about the return of Triple H and Rey Mysterio? Triple H is scheduled to make his return at SummerSlam on Sunday August 26. I hope he has a match with King Booker so he can beat him up. In January, Triple H tore a quadricep muscle in his right leg. He underwent surgery and had since recuperated. Triple H had to go through hours of physical therapy to get back in shape and prepare for his return. Rey Mysterio is also scheduled to make his return. I don't know if he will make his return on SmackDown or SummerSlam? Rey suffered a severe knee injury when Chavo Guerrero hit his knee several times in an "I Quit" match. Rey had no choice but to say "I Quit" because his knee was taking too much punishment. He underwent surgery and since recuperated. What does the future holds for "The Game" and "The Master of the 619"? Will Triple H go after King Booker? Will Rey seek revenge on Chavo? Will there be a DX reunion? What do you think? What are your opinions?
Who Thinks Dwayne Wade Is Becoming Washed Up Like Vince Carter? Who Thinks Dwayne Wade Is Becoming Washed Up Like Vince Carter? Dwayne Wade has been nothing but amazing in his first 4 years in the NBA, just like Vince Carter use to be. Until his injury. - Dwayne Wade poses the same threat, coming back from shoulder surgery could basically change his whole game, just like Vince Carter game was changed after his knee injury. - We saw some glimpses of a less dynamic Wade late in the regular season and after his 1st round knock out by the Chicago Bulls. - So this poses the question is Dwayne Wade becoming another spectacular player like Penny Haradaway, Vince Carter, and Chris Webber that becomes just a average player with an allstar name who becomes inconsistent, just makes a few amazing thing during the course of the season, and never will win unless he joins another great allstar team. - IS Dwayne Wade becoming the Scrub aka VC, Webber, Penny? wht u mean ... wait until next season ? he has already played in the regular season he didnt do anything... and he already played in the postseason only winning 1 game. - And surgery is worse then rehab you have percentages that favor against you then for you. - He will not be the Wade of the 2006 NBA Finals. sorry to say.

knee issuse? 6 months ago i tore my MCL in a football game. now it wasn't a tear of the ligament, the ligament just detached from the bone and healed on its own. but i still get really bad aches and pains in that knee. i have gone to physical therapy for it and have worked it out but the pain keeps coming back. i take pain pills after games or a hard practice to keep the pain down. but is there any way to reduce the pain without surgery or medication
My 10 year old son injured his quad after a knee injury. Help, PLEASE!!? My son who was 9 at the time was injured in a soccer game in Jan. he was kicked in the side of the knee and it went inward, then he fell and it hyper-extended. One doc said he had a femur fracture at the knee, and was ok with him being on prescription pain meds for over 1 month. We switched docs and the new doc said there was never a fracture. After MRI's they thought his meniscus was torn. Arthroscopic surgery found scar tissue had formed where the bone had bled and the doc cleaned it up. He never had any rehab and after 6 months of no activity, castings, surgery and limited use he is really out of shape. Fall soccer season just started and he pulled his Quad last night at practice. I massaged it with BioFreeze and gave Advil last night and this morning. Is this a result of everything else? Should I take him back to the doc and insist on PT? I don't want to over react, but he has gone from being the fastest kid on the team to the slowest and he walks and runs with a little hitch now. Any suggestions as to what can be going on?
How can i make my muscles stronger to play volleyball again without stress on my knee? i recently tore my ACL in a volleyball game and had surgery about 3 months ago. i've lost all the muscle in my leg and i'm trying to get back to playing sports as fast as possible. but i can't do the normal excericises to strengthen my muscles because it would put too much stress on my knee. so.. what can i do to strenthen my hip muscles and my quads and calves without putting stress on my knee?
Did Tiger Woods die? Did Tiger Woods die or is he just done for the season? I could have sworn he was just having knee surgery but ESPN has pulled the Cubs v Rays game so they could have his wake errrrr cover 1 golfer having surgery. Surgery a good idea in this case? I'm 50 and I have lingering pain in my knee from a bone bruise I got a little more than a year ago. I also have some side effects in my right shoulder from tendinitis scar tissue which happened five years ago. I've had to give up bowling and golf although the pain isn't severe from either, it's just enough to affect my games and spoil my enjoyment. Can arthroscopic surgery help? I've heard conflicting results and my doctor said I had about 50% chance of improvement. Anyone have experience to share about it?
Hypothetical Peyton Manning question? I know Peyton Mannings knee surgery is supposed to be very minor. I am confidant that he'll be back to business as usual by the beginning of the season. But, if that's not true, how would the Colts do? What do you think their record would be if he missed: 2 games? 4 games? The entire season? Do you think they would try to pick up a new backup QB? Or would they stick with Sorgi? I agree that they might try Culpepper. He could be a valuable backup.
Online virtual surgery games ? I want to be a doctor and I love those games. If there are any other ones than the ones i name please tell me. Here are the ones i've played: -virtual knee surgery -virtual hip surgery -dark cut 1 and 2 -amateur surgeon -er sim Thanks
One more reason to hate the skins? Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn appeared in his first game in a year after having to have 2 knee surgeries, 1 one both knees. He had his first surgery on his left knee after training camp, and in preseason he suffered another knee injury this time it was torn cartilage in his right knee. He had 2 options, the first being microfrature surgery which would place him on IR and he'd be done for the season, the second option was just to have the torn cartilage removed which gave him an opportunity to play later in the season. He chose the second option hoping he could later return to help the team. He was expected to return sometime in the midseason. He didn't even start running until the last few weeks where he was slowly worked in to practice. The last game of the season came and he had finally shown the coaching staff enough in practice to play some snaps in the season finally. He had worked for 17 weeks in rehab to get on the field and the very first time he went in LaRon Landry was called for a late hit for diving at his right knee. Terry Glenn kept saying he was OK after being rolled up on by Redskins safety LaRon Landry on that sideline incompletion, but all the time he was talking he kept rubbing his lower right leg. And he was hot about the late hit, because in his eyes, after what he said he heard before the game, Landry had a bull’s-eye on his right knee, knowing no Glenn would make their job easier if the third time around occurred. “You could see it, he was running at me low, came down and goes at my knee like that,’’ Glenn said. What kind of person would do something like that? I'm not trying to say that other players going after other players knees is bad but the pass it happened on was way to long for anyone to catch and Glenn was already starting to walk back to the sideline when he took the cheep shot. I could see the hit if he had caught the ball or at least trued for it but it was almot like a through away.
Once they retire, does the game owe professional athletes who played pro-ball, anything...? Many times people suffer on the job injuries and suffer. Should ball players, professional boxers, international hockey players, jockeys (horse), Olympic athletes, etc., who suffered any physical inuries from participating in their respective sport be afforded some pension or some specialized health care. Campbell Now Looks Like Shell of Former Self Former Heisman Winner Suffering Ailments, Rehab By JIM VERTUNO, AP Posted: 2007-06-30 15:37:24 AUSTIN, Texas (June 30) - The sleek black Mercedes whipped into valet parking. Anyone expecting the driver to get out of the car with the same grace and style was in for a shock. With the aide of the valet, Earl Campbell slowly emerged. Left foot first, right foot next. Once they were both solidly on the ground, the Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Famer grabbed his walker with both hands and shuffled with bent back and crooked knees toward the door of the Barton Creek Resort. Campbell was being honored this weekend by the Heisman Winners Association, a gathering to raise money for charity and toast the former Texas Longhorn 30 years after he won college sports' most prestigious individual trophy. But the body that was built for football now looks broken. He insists his ailments - most recently bone spurs in his back that required surgery, a monthlong stay in the hospital and rehab three days a week - are more likely the result of bad genetics than football. In eight seasons in the NFL, he missed only six games because of injuries. "I broke a finger one time, and broke ribs maybe," he said. But his Heisman mates aren't so sure. They remember the human battering ram in a helmet and shoulder pads and see a proud man physically struggling for years now. At a time when Congress is conducting hearings on whether the NFL should have a stronger pension and disability system for former players, they see the 52-year-old Campbell as yet another example of the violence in football and the wreckage it can leave behind.
2 Questions for Charger fans and the AFC game..? i heard phil rivers had to go through surgery. though i am a bolts fan, i did not like rivers because he was inconsistent. but after watching him play through TWO(one from the titans) recuperating knees, i was impressed. they lost but give rivers some credit. also, does ne1 know where to down load the song "Unstoppable" by ES Posthumus? it was the orchestra w/ electric guitar preview music played before the AFC championship game between the pats and the chargers. oh yeah.. and i dont want a link to the group's website..

Greg Oden fragile? Why is Greg Oden so fragile? He hasn't played a single NBA game yet but.. 1. Breaks his wrist 2. Had tonsil problems 3. Now, requires knee surgery and will be missing the season What's up with this guy, seriously? Is he to go down as another Sam Bowie? It is too early to make statements but at this rate, he seems like he will be a big BUST, especially after all that hype.
Ok, last time I annoy you! But what position in Aussie Rules would i have played at 5ft11.5 & weighing 100kg? Just wondering, what position would a player who wasn't really "tall", but almost 6 ft and 100kg or 220 pounds play? Being very quick and running consistently 11.3 sec for the 100m at a lighter match weight of 89kg, before having knee surgery and bulking up in the gym, still with little body fat and being able to run 12 sec in the 100m and very quick over 40m. Being very strong in the upper body and broad shouldered, yet still too light to really play Rugby League at the top level as a forward and too slow in the backs, what positions would someone who was "light" and fast play, than after knee surgery who bulked up but slowed down play? Just trying to understand your game. No, just trying to understand the positional demands. In RL your position depends very much upon your size and speed (or lack of).

Most Under Appreciated NBA All Time Team? These are the Legends seemingly forgotten and hardly mentioned, yet are still amongst the best EVER! List yours: ( note: kids who don't know of players from the past = please don't chip in ) 1st team: PG: Nate "Tiny" Archibald - all this guy did was have probably the greatest season of all time ( 34 ppg, 11.4 apg, 2 spg ) on a horrible team when you'd get laid out for going in the paint in those days. Came back from several knee surgeries to lead the Celtics to a ring. SG: Sidney Moncrief - played on a lot of Bucks teams that barely missed making the Finals. Self made scorer who was amongst the best defenders ever for any position C: Moses Malone - first kids without college to make it. Won several MVP awards, won rings with Houston twice and Philadelphia once ( fo,fo,fo ). Monster rebounder who never fouled out of a game. Top 3 C ever, but barely mentioned. Fifth leading scorer All Time! PF: Elvin Hayes - probably the greatest PF ever. Unstoppable in the blocks as he swayed to the crowds chants ( Eeeee). Awesome rebounder and defender who is the 6th leading scorer All Time. Only missed 9 games in 16 years and is 3rd All Time in minutes played ( 50,000 ). SF: Adrian Dantley - At 6 '4', Adrian averaged over 30 ppg, and led the NBA in made free throws 4 seasons. Finished the 9th leading scorer in history, 54% fg %. In '79 he had an amazing fg % of .576 while averaging 28 ppg. Often allowed his first shot to be blocked to set up his now famous series of head/ shoulder fakes for the remainder of the game. 2nd Team: PG: Maurice Cheeks - retired the All Time leader in steals, in the top 5 in assists. Consummate PG who was the perfect quarterback looking to pass first. SG: Earl "The Pearl " Monroe - with a special nod to Lou Hudson and Dave Bing, Earl also went by "Black Magic". His exciting improvisations and ability to manipulate the ball has yet to be close to being duplicated. C: Wes Unseld - Wes and Wilt Chamberlain are the only players in NBA history to be named Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player in the same year. Unselds famous chest passes could be rocketed full court at blazing speed, leading to an amazing fast break due to his outlet passes. Led the Bullets to 4 NBA Finals in the 70's, winning one. Listed at 6 '7', but rumored to be 6 '41/2', Unseld got by on intelligence, grit, courage, and dedication to often out rebound opposing centers who were much taller. Wes averaged 14 rpg and finished his career 7th All Time on the NBA rebounding list. PF: Buck Williams - Rebounding machine and defensive wizard, Buck was Rookie of the Year in '82, while making the NBA Defensive team 5 times. He is one of only seven players to achieve 16,000 points and 13,000 rebounds in his NBA career and ranked fourth on the NBA's all-time list in games played (1,307), eighth in minutes (42,464) and 10th in rebounds (13,017). SF: Bernard King - with a nod to Alex English, King may be much better known if knee injuries hadn't befell him so often. Overcame substance abuses early in his career as well. Would post up anyone, then spin a lightening quick turn around jumper left or right. Comeback Player of the Year in '82. Even more remarkably, King changed his playing style to accommodate the loss of explosiveness he had suffered because of his knee injury. Where most of his points had once come from posting up, flinging in bump-and-fade jumpers from the baseline and shooting from the perimeter, the "new" King was a face-up player who scored most of his points with slashing moves to the basket. He had become a complete in-the-paint player. Finished an impressive career with a 22.5 ppg avg.
People Don't Realize ....? Injuries started kicking in for the lakers when they were 15 games over the 500 mark. Look at the list Kwame Brown : Sprained left ankle Sore ankle Sprained ankle - out 3 to 4 weeks Shammond Williams: Abdominal strain Vladimar Radmanovic : Right shoulder separation, out 8 weeks Sprained right hand Strained right quad Kobe Bryant : Sprained right ankle Knee surgery Luke Walton : Sprained right ankle Lamar Odom : Tear in left shoulder Sprained right knee - out 3-6 weeks Maurice Evans : Sore right knee Chris Mihm : Right ankle surgery - out indefinitely Sprained right ankle Sore right shoulder Only healthy players right now are smush, andrew, farmar, sasha, now tell me why kobe shouldnt shoot, thats why they are doing bad in the playoffs, if I were them id just let the suns win and get healthy.

Im thinking it might be a rough start...Rivers had knee surgery that requires 9 months of rehab...8 months if he's lucky So that being said...Do you think we will start off slow and then gain momentum after a few games? Or will our defense & LT prevail for a great start next year? Any opinions welcome.....Oh and what do you think the chances of volek starting are if rivers isnt 100%? GO CHARGERS!!!!!! Patriots will suck next year Superbowl is ours!!!! Colts Cant beat us and Patriots will have no confidence after that horrid loss
my xbox 360 says every disk is unplayable.? first i thought it was my call of duty 4 disk because there was a baby scratch on it and it had b**Tched about it b4. so i went to blockbuster to rent one to swap, well i got home and it didnt work either so i put halo 3 in just 2c and that said unplayable disk. i hear it making noise but the things so noisy anyways i cant tell if its just the hard drive. I have been watching hd dvd on the external drive and not playing games for about a week so i tried to use the normal drive for a regular dvd and that also gave me a unplayable disk prompt. bummer, i just had knee surgery and was eager to vedge out playing cod4. at least i got hd dvd, but is my xbox shot, is this a common problem? can i fix it or does it have to be sent out? how much does it cost to send and how do i do this? i bought my xbox 360 the night it was released and i dont think i got a warranty? who do i contact to send it? can i upgrade?
any acl/meniscus tear athletes? i tore 40% of my acl and got a buckethandle tear to my meniscus may 06 during a soccer game. i got surgery one year ago and my knee is still swollen and giving me problems! tell me your stories.. how long did it take to heal/run/play sports again?
Jiu-jutsu a good idea? I took it when I was in elementary school and I absolutely loved it. I really want to get back into it. I am currently stationed in South Korea and they teach it along with many other forms like Hap ki doh and Tang su doh (sorry for the spellings). The problem is that in less than 3 weeks I will be having reconstructive surgery on my knee for a torn ACL from a soccer game. The recovery can tak 6-9 months sometimes. Anybody who has had this kind of injury or anything like it that to this day practice martial arts, can you give me any advice on when to start up or whether to bother?
Is No. 1 draft choice Greg Oden already a bust? (has 2 opinions in the article)? YES Greg Oden hasn't played a single game for the Portland Trail Blazers, and he already has fans in the Pacific Northwest thinking bad thoughts - Is this guy the next Sam Bowie? Oden is expected to miss the entire 2007-08 season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee. Oden was the No. 1 overall pick in the June draft. Bowie, of course, was the center the Blazers selected with the No. 1 pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. Chronic knee problems plagued Bowie throughout his NBA career. He averaged 10.9 points and 7.5 rebounds over 11 seasons - not bad, but not worthy of a top overall draft pick. Who did the Blazers pass up? Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon, for starters. Now, the Blazers have Oden, who had a great freshman season at Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to the national championship game. But that season started with Oden recovering from a broken wrist. Two major injuries in a year's time. Can you say injury-prone? You don't usually see dominant players deal with so many serious injuries at such an early age. And microfracture surgery is not something you come back from quickly. Some players never come all the way back. One of the most glaring examples is Penny Hardaway, who looked like a future Hall of Famer after his first few seasons before undergoing the operation. More recently, New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd and Phoenix Suns center Amare Stoudemire have overcome that serious operation to return to their All-Star level of play. All I'm saying is this: If you're the Seattle SuperSonics, you should feel pretty good about drafting Kevin Durant. And if you're the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies, I wouldn't feel so bad about not winning the 2007 NBA Draft Lottery. - Alan Bellittera, Herald Staff NO Call it a devastating hit for the Portland Trail Blazers or blame the cover jinx yet again. But don't call Greg Oden a bust, and hold off on the Sam Bowie comparisons. The 7-foot center won't disappoint when he returns from the microfracture surgery that put him out for the 2007-08 season. Why? Just take a look at his age - 19 years old. A successful return is much more likely for athletes who are 30 or younger. In fact, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Steadman told The Oregonian more than eight of 10 microfracture patients have successful recoveries. At age 22, center Amare Stoudemire underwent the surgery after the 2004-05 season. Last year, he averaged 20.4 points a season and 9.6 rebounds and was an impact player for the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals last year. And even past the age of 30, Jason Kidd is proof players can still return with comparable numbers. In the 2003-04 season before Kidd's microfracture surgery at age 31, the guard averaged 15.5 points, 9.2 assists and 8.2 rebounds. He's still putting up triple-doubles and led the New Jersey Nets to the postseason. In the meantime, Oden will spend his days studying his next level of competition. Instead of being thrown into the NBA ranks, he can take in the games from the sidelines and study his opponents. He did that when he was at Ohio State when he had to sit out with a wrist injury and returned able to block shots with both hands. The long rehabilitation process is sure to provide Oden with plenty of motivation to make an impact when he returns. So for now, Portland and Oden need patience. And the worst-case scenario for the Trail Blazers is they end the season with another losing record, get another good chance at a top draft pick and begin the 2008-09 season with two top players.
Can you take a look at for me? I went bowling with two of my friends Christina and Lin; Lin brought one of her friends along. I trashed my knee a few month ago and I was dew for surgery the next week so by game two I was in a lot of pain but she knew that and by the that time I was not the most talkative person, but she knew that I was going to be hurting after a little while. The next day I got a e-mail from her asking if I was mad at her, I sent back “There is no way I could ever be mad at you, every body else maybe, you no.” and I asked her why, she did not reply. A few days later I asked her why she thought I was mad at her and abruptly she told me “I do not know”, a few sec after that she told me that she forgot. Any body got any idea on this? She is a person that I care for a lot but I have been to shy to tell her, it kind of bothers me that she thanks I could be mad at her.
Torn ACL issues - Thanks in advance? I was a catcher (baseball) throughout school. Well, the last game of the season in 2005, I tore my ACL. Cleat caught in the dirt and was twisted by another player as foot stayed planted. It was a huge crunching sound and I had no stability in my knee. It was a complete tear, and had surgery 30 days later. This was the most painful experience of my life. I now have stability but have yet to achieve full motion. It’s very painful to squat on that knee. It is still numb as well. It was done via patella...Question is: How long does it take to get feeling back? I’ve tried stretching but it’s so painful. If I force through it, will it eventually regain full motion? I love to run and find it very painful sometimes...Anyone experience this? What are the best exercises to do? I have a friend who also had full reconstruction and had zero problems and healed quickly...

Surgery Games? I Want To Play An Online Game That Has Something To Do With Surgery. I Already Played This Game Called Knee Surgery And I Liked It. Is They Other Games Involving Surgery
I have to file a claim for an injury...just a few questions? January I tore my acl at an NHL game. I was getting to my seat and while stepping up my knee twisted and snapped. I just had reconstructive acl surgery and the costs are starting to add up. When I'm done with therapy the total will be around 700 dollars. I filed an injury report when it happened and they know about it. Question is, what are my chances of them paying me the 700 dollars. I have great insurance and what I've paid is just copays and my 2 therapy visits. I've talked to insurance company and they're going to send me my claim history and everything I've paid in, and that's what I'm going to send. Thanks :) There were 2 rather large gentlemen at the end of my row who weren't able to get up and let me through, and the other end was blocked off by a security bar. Since there were empty seats I feel they should have moved these men to a less full row. Since no usher helped me to my seat, I feel this is where the negligence was. If 700 is not that much to you, then feel free to pay my bill and brown bag it for lunch this month. thank you for all the responses
