Information on a knee cyst scope surgery? i have had knee pains for several years now and i recently got an MRI and they found a large cyst. as im only 14 im not really sure about this kind of stuff but the doctor said i need a surgery to scope it out. the surgery is in 2 weeks and im still not positive on what they're doing.. has anyone ever had this done before? if so what can you tell me about it and the procedure.
Should I have surgery for knee osteoarthritis? I am only 26 and I have early stage osteoarthritis in my knee. My MRI did not show any meniscal tears. I took physical therapy for 8 weeks and it seemed to help but now it's getting worse. My knee constantly pops when I walk and I can't exercise much. My surgeon wants to "scope" my knee and "pick" the bone but from what I've read online arthroscopic surgery doesn't have good reviews. Has anyone had experience with it? If so what was your experience and what was the recovery like?
My knee is giving out on me after having a L knee scope with lateral release 4 1/2 months ago...what do I do? My left knee gives out on me frequently and at random times...this causes a lot of pain. I take glucosamine and have tried numerous pain meds, physical therapy for 2 months after surgery, knee brace and a post-surgery cortizone shot less than 3 weeks ago. I had a knee scope with lateral release on my right knee in August and the left knee done in December. The right knee is doing ok while the left knee is giving me fits. I am also getting pain along my shin when trying to extend my knee.
knee scope/fat tissue? i went to the doctors today and he said i have excess fat tissue behind me knee and i have to have PT before i try a scope surgery..if i have the surgery how long will i be out of activities? and how painful is it? will i go to the office? or the hospital?
knee surgery??? so i tore my MCL, doctor said it was like 3/4 of the way torn, not completely. My doctor wants to do an MRI, he thinks I may also have meniscus damage, and wants to get an inside look at my MCL. I don't want to do the MRI, personally I don't trust the results. I've known people who have had things missed on the MRI. I would rather have a knee scope done so he can see it exactly, and also repair any damage he may find. I know that all surgerys have risks and that surgery should be a last resort, but how do I convince my doctor to do the scope instead of the MRI?
Knee surgery and workman compensation? I live in Georgia and have been on workman comp for the past 6 yrs due to injury on my right knee. I've had a scope, parial knee replacement and finaly a total knee replacement on right knee. I'm havig problem with my left knee now with pain and popping,my question is:Can Workman Comp be held responsible for my condition on my other knee? I already had arthritis in my left knee but due to the fact I was overcompensating on using my left knee can they still be accountable for this?
Recovery after knee surgery? I had a knee scope on April 4th 2008 and had a medial meniscus tear that needing to be cut. Only the inside portion of the meniscus was cut and the doctor said that I would not have a problem recovering 100% . Since I go to the gym 3 times a week he said that I did not have to go to PT . My ? is , is how long before I am back to normal? My knee is still sore and I still cannot run. I have been packing to get ready to move and am going to have to lift and move heavy things and my knee is pretty sore. Anyone know whats up? Is this normal?
Should I hold off on knee surgery or pregnancy? I have been infertile now for over a yr and a half so I went to my gyno she started doing the test and stuff then my knee had been acting a little strange so I went to my ortho doc and he told me that I needed to have another scope done (I had one done in 2002). So I had the mri done and a couple test from gyno and I find out the results of the mri monday. The gyno said that I wasnt ovualating so I need to take clomid. I am going to ask my doc mon if he thinks I should go ahead with the knee scope or not, b/c I am already overweight and if I give it a few months and successfully get preggo then I will def gain a little weight. So my ? to you is what do you think I should wait on? well the doc told me that he was going to have to take something out of my knee and also if someway to pull my patella down, b/c it is too high. -when I had the scope in 2002 they had to do extra to it as well. -so I figured that if I gained more weight and being preggo would make have another problem with my knee if I go ahead with the surgery
I had Knee Surgery a week ago and my calf and foot are swollen and turning purple and red should i worry .? 1 week ago i had an arthroscopic surgery done on my right knee and 11 months ago i had an ACL reconstruction done on the same knee, well the scope was done on tuesday of last week and when i came to from anesthesia my calf was hurting and it didn't go away and it hasnt got better my calf, shin, ankle and foot are swollen and all around my ankle is turning purple and red my knee doesn't even hurt and i can bend it about 90 degrees but i cant raise my foot up because i get a really sharp pain in my calf muscle and trying to walk is almost unbearable im talking it hurts bad , i tried calling orthopedics but of course my doctor is on Vacation and the other doctor hasn't called back , im 30 years old and im a U.S Marine so honestly im not much of a baby about pain but this seriously hurts and im getting worried cause it seems like its getting worse. and nothing like this happened from my last surgery.
Has anyone benefited after having knee arthroscopic surgery for arthritis? I have recently been diagnosed with osteo arthritis of my patella-femoral joint! I am 31 years old and my knee is always swelling up and causing me severe pain!! Doctor said he would do a scope but might not benefit me. Was wondering if anyone has had a scope and benefitted in the long wrong! I cant live like this its been since june and I have been doing therapy any suggestions please
Information on knee surgery? Had knee surgery 2 weeks ago, been off the crutchs about a week now except going down steps. how long before its back to normal, ya know to where it can bend like it should. had torn cartlige & a torn acl that he said at my age I would not need for the most part, it was done with the scope. it was artoscopy or however it is spelled.
diagnostic knee surgery? Im having a "dagnostic scope" on my knee on the 30th of this month because of a knee injury that just wont heal. The MRI is supposedly clean (according to the doc and the radiologist)but friends and nurses that i work with have looked at my MRI and they seem to think that something is definatly torn and needs to be repaired. I have another dr appointment on the 16th to see about possibly getting another MRI(it would be the 4th one) since the swelling has finally come down enough so that damage will be seen... my question is: how long will my recovery be if nothing is found by the scope? and the doc that i was seeing before had said something about a chondral fracture and if that is the case what is the recovery like for that? also, everyone who has looked at the MRI thinks that i have a torn MCL and a partial ACL as well.... any help would be appriciated.... Thanks I need to be all clear by mid september for cheer
Ok...I'm getting knee surgery...I have a question.? Okay, what their going to do in the surgery is tighten my knee cap and strighten it out because I have a fold...He said that it's not major surgery or anything but they also want to explore my knee to see if there are any other problems...But their only doing this through scopes on each side of my knee cap..How long, or am I, going to be off my knee, or on crutches?? Cause I'm a freshmen and I don't want to miss the first day...But yet again I don't want to go on crutches...Because I did that last year at school....It's not very fun..
knee scope...please help...? I am meeting with the Orthopeadic surgeon on the 30th and he is going to look at my MRI(from september) and then we will be dicussing getting my knee scoped.... what exactly should i expect with this visit? what are some questions i should ask him? The ortho PA that i have been seeing has reccommended that i meet with the surgeon because despite 5 months of PT, and 3 rounds of cortizone injections, my knee is still giving me a great deal of pain(injured MCL in June)... and he is concerned that the MRIs that i have had may have missed a tear to either my meniscus or to another structure, or that i have scar tissue that is catching.... any advice would be great,as i am a little anxious of what to expect and whether or not after the scope i will be able to return to cheerleading for Nationals in April(if i have the surgery in Feb i will have 7 weeks before my next competition) I was trying to put having the surgery off until then but unfortunatly the pain has gotten worse so here i go
Explanation for knee stiffness after knee scope? Hi all, I had my left knee scoped last week (8 days ago), all they did was clean up wear and tear and remove a small piece of torn cartilage. I started physical rehab 5 days after surgery, so far i am improving a lot, riding a stationary bike 8 days post-op. My full recovery is expected by the doctor in 4 weeks, I'm just wondering when the swelling will completely go away (it has to some extent). I can bend my knee almost all the way, but it gets stopped just before i reach all the way, my PT said its due to the stiffness because of swelling that hasn't completely subsided. So how long till the swelling completely goes away and the stiffness leaves? It's gone down quite a bit in a week, but not fully gone. And what would help speed up that process? Thanks, much needed help! p.s im a collegiate athlete in top shape before the surgery
What types of Knee injuries preclude me from Joining the Marine Corps? I am 19 years old and I have had three knee surgeries on my right knee. 2 scopes, and one which repared a torn patellar tendon. I have had a re-occuring problem with a dislocating knee cap on the right knee aswell. I am going in for a fourth and final surgery in a few weeks which is intended to permenantly fix my dislocation problem aswell as fix anything else that is found to be problematic. It is a pretty invasive surgery that will conclude with two screws in my right knee. The surgery needs to happen and I am just trying to find out if it will keep me from reaching my life long goal of becoming a United States Marine. If anybody knows anything about the Marine Corps stance on knee surgeries and screws in the knee please let me know. I am constantly hearing conflicting accounts about what is and is not allowed. If any body can help me get a straight anwser it would be great.
how do i find the backround of a dr. who is going to do surgery on me? I am going to have a knee scope done, but want to check this dr. out first, to see if he has any cases against him, etc.. any one suing him. how long he has been in practice, etc.... what website can i go to and find this info. I would like it FREE, but am willing to pay, after all , he is going to cut me open!
army physical - meps and knee? Army physical - past knee problems? When I was 12 I had bad knee swelling in one of my knees, docs didn't know what it was so they mis diagnosed me with all this different crap. Then one of them just did a simple scope surgery on the knee, flushed it out and fixed it. I am now 17 and since have had no problems what so ever, I have played football on it, weightlifted, run, basically everything. I even got a letter from my doc saying I can do full physical activity... Will this be enough for the docs at MEPS? Any chance this could disqualify me? even though I can do anything with my knee, I have no restrictions and no swelling.

I have severe scoliosis and had to have my lumber fused.? Then my body went OUT OF WHACK big time. I had to have scope knee surgery back in Nov. 06 so that i could do rehab to have a total hip replacement which i had on Jan. 11, 07. THAT went great (the hip) but then the knee started killing me and my back AGAIN. Well, i thought it was my knee but i went to my knee doc today and they did an x-ray on my back. NOW my back is all messed up again................i know they won't do another fusion but what did you think they will do?? I'm now stressed/depressed, etc. i don't know how many more surgeries i can handle??????????? What do you'll think they will do now???? The x-ray showed big spaces between my vertabres.
Is my knee infected and what should I do about it? I had ACL surgery and then the doctor did another surgery to remove scar tissue with a scope. I broke open one of the incisions and it developed an infection. I was hospitalized and given antibiotics through an IV. I am allergic to pennicillian so I was given alternitive antibiotics and the doctors found out that I was allergic to most if not all of the other antibiotics. I had surgery to clean up the infection and released. My knee is swollen, red and is emitted a brown fluid that smells. I am having a burning sensation under my knee cap and around the wound. Is it infected again? If it is infected my doctor wants to open it up and leave it open to heal from the inside out. Is this a good idea? What should I do?
can u tell me if i have fluid buildup in my knee? i just had surgery on my knee a week ago. they done a lateral release on my knee cap useing the scope. well the other day i noticed the left side of my knee was really swollen and its really numb when i touch it. i still have my stiches in and were the swelling is its right above my incision and its swollen to. what is this?
what surgeries have you had? i had my gall bladder removed, two left knee scopes, one right knee scope, nissen surgery where they separate your stomach from your esophagus. and five scopes down my throat. kind of crazy if you think about it. i'm only 32.
MRSA from a surgery Can I sue to cover hospital bills? Here is the issue I am having. My husband had a basic knee scope. He got a staph infection from the surgery. He had 2 more surgeries the following week to clean it out. The dr completely cut open his kneee both times. He then got MRSA from one of those surgeries. He had to have 2 more to clean out the 2nd infection. He now has had 5 surgeries He has gotten 2 different infections and is now currently in the hospital with an infection . They are still waiting on the culture to see if this is the same infection or a different one. He is only 36 years old and was in good health before this. He may have to have more surgeries this week to clean out this infection. He is on IV antibotics at home and has been sine June 2nd when all of this started. He is unable to work and will be for a while if he is ever able to work again. He has lost all control of his leg. Muscles are sagging and he does not have all of the feeling in it. Not sure if I have a case or not I am in OHio if it matters
PVNS Surgery in two weeks!? I'm 18 and I have pvns in my knee and i'm going to have surgery to remove it in two weeks. to say the least im freaked out! they are doing the scope surgery on the front then making an s shaped incision on the back of the knee. they said it will be day surgery. i'm so afraid of waking up in BAD pain. can anyone who was this surgery or any surgery tell me if you woke up in pain? and when your put out when you wake up does if feel like you just closed your eyes? what do you feel like when you wake up? do the stitches kill? can i keep my fake nails on? what about my belly ring? and most of all do you need a catheter for this surgery because i really do not want one! if you can answer any of my question i'd be very happy!
Knee pains??? Help !? Where I used to work I had to file for 2 hours a day, and kneel to get things off a printer everyday. Well my knee popped and it's hurt ever since. Sometimes it feels wet, but really isn't. I went to the doctor and he said that I may be losing the cartilage in my knee's. I am too young for this to happen! He gave me some meds to help, but now they aren't working. I don't have time for surgery (he wanted to scope my knee) so I need some alternatives. I've heard of glucosamine and condroiten, but what else is there that I can take to help with the pain and maybe circumvent surgery? I already have inserts for my shoes. Have had them since I was in jr high. They do help, it's just now that my knees have started going south. By the way....I'm 5' 4" and weigh 116 lbs. So it's not a weight problem.
anyone who has surgery please answer me!?!? ok i'm having surgery on my right knee through a scope. its going to be day surgery. i'm very nervous. I was just wondering some basic surgery questions. ok can i keep my fake nails on? what about my bellybutton ring? do you think i'll have a catheter? what does it feel like while your under? does it feel like you just closed your eyes and when you open them its all done? does the iv hurt? do they stitches hurt? did you wake up in pain with your surgery? do you think i will need those nose tubes that go really far down? or a throat tube? Please let me know all about your experience it will ease my worry. anything i should ask them to do or ask for? thank you! this is all really good info so stop giving thumbs down!
why do some doctors do not believe in chronic pain? I have 10 knee surgeries over the past 17 yrs, all on the same knee. Two were for a torn patellar tendon , one was was an acl replacement, and the other 7 were all scopes, even though the doc does a scope every time. Between the times i have the past 4 surgeries my knee has always hurt and taking tylenol and/ or ibuprofen all the time is not good for anyone. I thought taking those meds was for short term use. I have changed docs but it seems they all want to start over with the meds I had tried before even if I had documented that I allergies to certain NSAID meds and and allergry to demoral. Why is it so hard for the doctor to listen to me when I what works? But these days the DEA has them scared to prescibe, its not that im asking for strong meds, I just want to make my quality of life better. For the record i'm only 37 and have no addtiction history, and have even asked to goto a pain management doc.
How long will I be on crutches? I'm having a knee scope done in a week. They are going to clean out the lining of my knee and make sure I don't have an menicus tear; which they said I may or may not have, they won't know until they look. But I was wondering how long I would be on crutches and if it is going to hurt. I just really want to know everything so I can be ready and know what to expect before and after surgery. Thanks!
Should i get the surgery???? I dislocated my knee about two months ago, and i have been doing physical therapy for 6 weeks now. I can bend my knee 138 degrees, and 140 is normal for my knee. but there is still some swelling that occurs after increased activity, and i still, cannot run. I have also experienced a partial dislocation, which is where the kneecap goes out, and pops right back in. By now, people with dislocations are doing much better than me. So my doctor/surgeon suggested a surgery where they would first scope my knee, then tighten and loosen the tendons so that my knee will not dislocate. they would also remove a piece of my bone to align another tendon so that it prevents my knee from dislocating. but it will take 4 1/2 moths to recover. should i do it or not????
oh please help me! i hurt my knee? yesterday i stepped sidewides, like if you were doing the slide, and my knee cap popped up and then back down and i collapsed. i can bend it, but it is slightly swolen, it hurts to straighten out, and i can barely put weight on it. it feels very stiff. i am going to the doctor in 2 hours, but could you please give me your insight on what might be wrong? let me know if this has ever happen to you. do you think i'll have to have an MRI or scope or surgery. or could it just be a severe twist or sprain?
Broken patella, probably torn meniscus. I have swollen knee, tingling in foot and red leg. Why is this? I broke my patella on April 28. I get the results from my MRI this coming Wednesday. The Dr. believes that I tore both of my meniscus. I have been experiencing tingling in my foot for the last several days. Also, my leg is red when I stand up. What would cause the tingling in the foot. Also, the Dr. said that I will probably have to have scope surgery to repair the menisces. But, Dr. said they probably won't do the surgery until the fracture is healed. Does this sound right?? I haven't been able to walk for 8 weeks now and want to get the darned surgery so that I can start healing and get moving again. This is the most painful thing I have ever gone through. How long does the swelling and pain last??? Thank you for your thoughts.
Did my doctor do the right thing for my knee? I had knee pain and my doctor did xrays and an MRI. He then said I have a torn medial meniscus and recommended surgery. I just had the surgery a few days ago. I saw him yesterday and he said he had some bad news and that with the scope he saw alot of articular cartilage damage on my femur and removed a 1" X 1/2" patch of it because it was broken or fragmented. He then said I might have pain and might need a partial joint replacement!!! Is this possible? I was walking fine with no pain and could stand with no pain at all before surgery. I had the surgery because I wanted to be able to excercise and ride my bike again. Now he tells me he went ahead and removed a portion of articular cartilage without asking me first. I approved meniscus repair but didnt say anything about bone cartilage. I might have chronic pain now! Did my doctor do the right thing???
What can I do about knee fluid?? I recently had a knee MRI that showed a possible meniscus tear and a fluid collection. The doctor says the fluid cannot be removed because it has to naturally reabsorbed by the body. He doesn't think surgery will benefit me because the tear is asymptomatic. I have been doing physical therapy for over a month but see no improvement. Went back to doctor & scheduled a "scope" to see what's going on. When will this fluid go away??
will i need surgery?????? i have a large bakers cyst on my knee, and in my growth plate area there is two places where there is extra deposits of cartilage, will i need surgery, and if i do, would it be a scope, or would they have to cut down my knee?
ACL Surgery? I am scheduled to have acl surgery for a tear 02/14/2008. This is for and injury I have had since 05/2004. I have played sports since initially injuring it out it has come out of place a couple times. So I finally opted to have surgery. The surgeon decided it would be best for me to use an allograft. He said that I had no meniscal damage so it was just my ACL. I had a consultation with him 3 weeks ago and since have injured my knee (while sleeping) and I fear possible meniscus damage. If I tell the surgeon before surgery will he be able to see with the scope and fix it if I do have a tear? Or will I have to get more MRI's and postpone surgery? This seems like a waste of time if he is already going into my knee thursday. The doctor said I can play sports in 6 months this seems a bit early from what I have read. Does this have to with choosing the allograft? He said my injured leg muscles are the same size as my non injured leg. Does that have something to do with it?
knee injury... i need some advice please!!? I am meeting with the Orthopeadic surgeon on the 30th and he is going to look at my MRI(from september) and then we will be dicussing getting my knee scoped.... what exactly should i expect with this visit? what are some questions i should ask him? The ortho PA that i have been seeing has reccommended that i meet with the surgeon because despite 5 months of PT, and 3 rounds of cortizone injections, my knee is still giving me a great deal of pain(injured MCL in June)... and he is concerned that the MRIs that i have had may have missed a tear to either my meniscus or to another structure, or that i have scar tissue that is catching.... any advice would be great,as i am a little anxious of what to expect and whether or not after the scope i will be able to return to cheerleading for Nationals in April(if i have the surgery in Feb i will have 7 weeks before my next competition) I was trying to put having the surgery off until then but unfortunatly the pain has gotten worse so here i go
knee injury...? ok i injured my knee back in June(see other ?'s) and have to date had 4 months of therapy, 3 cortizone injections, 2 MRI's; both of which only show the injury to my MCL. However when i went back to the Doctor on December 18th he had mentioned doing a scope to "see if the MRI had missed anything" he said that for now it could be put off and was up to me how soon we did the surgery. I have two questions. 1. Is it possible that the MRI missed an injury to another structure? 2. If i decide to have the scope done now what is the expected down time, will i be out for the rest of the competitive cheer season(i have an 8 week break from Feb 9-April 6) or should i be ok to compete in April? 3. If i decide to try and wait until the end of April(end of the season) what additional damage can i cause to my knee? here are my current symptoms: *moderate to severe pain medially when squatting, poviting, and cutting *sharp stabbing pain if i turn my foot inwards(deep within the medial side) *after riding stationary bike, knee feel as though it may buckle(relatively new symptom) *"catching" feeling while walking(just started happening) If anyone can give me any advise that would be great... I go back to the Doctor on Jan. 17th; and just wanted to know if i could continue with just therapy or if i should go ahead and do the surgery now... thanks again
HELP.... knee pain continues... what to do...? ok i injured my left knee back in June, i have had 2 MRIs("minor" tear to MCL), 5 months of PT, 3 cortizone injections... all of which have done minimal to ease any pain... the PT worked wonders for getting my ROM and strength back, the last 2 months that i was there felt a bit like a waste of my time and money(as i was still experiencing moderate to severe pain, with extensinve ROM and jumping exercises), so when i went back to the ortho PA that i had been seeing he suggested meeting with the MD/surgeon at the practice to discuss scoping to see what was going on... I had that appointment today and thought that i was going to be scheduling my surgery but instead i am going back for yet another 4 weeks of PT(with the addidtion of a cortisone "rub" that will be ultrasounded into my joint) he says that it is more effective then the shots, but if this doesnt work then we will do the scope... he just doesnt see how 2 MRIs could have missed a meniscus tear... and there is nothing surgically that can be done to the MCL... he also said that a "minor" injury to the MCL wouldn't STILL be causing pain after 7 months... does this sound right or should i have pushed harder for the scope to be done now rather then to wait yet another month... cause i got the impression that had i insisted it be done i would be awaiting that rather then continuing the "wait and see" game... what should i do? and please dont just say get a second opinion... the Doc says that waiting wont cause any additional damage but i do competitve cheerleading and that may sometimes the pain feels worse, and my knee feels like it wants to buckle, however everyone is insisting that structrally my knee is "ok"... i dont go back until the 19th of March... I have a hinge brace that i have been wearing sine about september, and i swear that is the only thing keeping my knee from giving sometimes(like after practice or while at work).... im just beginning to get frustrated
Advice needed on a health matter? Here is what I am going through. My husband had a knee scope on may 29,2008. He got a staph infection 3 days later and was put in the hospital. He had surgery 2 more times that week. Completely cut his knee open to clean out infection. 2 weeks later he gets a 2nd infection. Back in the hospital surgery 2 more times that week. This time we find out it is MRSA. Now 3 weeks later he is back on the hospital with swelling, pain and his knee is very hot,. He has been in there for 3 days now. None of his doctors can figure out what is going on. He has a PICC line is on IV antibotics and he is still not getting any better. I think he needs to go to another hospital to get a 2nd opinion but we can not get him discharged to go to the other hospital. If we leave the insurance will not pay for any of the bill. I guess I was wanting to see what others think. Should he get a 2nd opinion or just stick it out with his drs now? If we get a 2nd opinion how do we get him out of the hospital?

RUGBY ATTIRE QUESTION!! please help!? I began playing rugby last year and at the end of our amazing season I tore my acl and 2 parts of my meniscus. I had the re constructive surgery done about 4 months ago, but it was all done through a scope so the recovery has been faster than expected. I'm slowly making my way back on the pitch but need a good knee brace that i can PLAY in. I know rugby restrictions are really tight when it comes to protective equipment so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great!! I found this brace http://www.footlocker.com/catalog/productdetail.cfm?model_nbr=68554&sku=1541180&SID=8732&inceptor=1&cm_mmc=SEO-_-Feeds-_-Froogle-_-null on most rugby websites, but I'm not sure of the rules regarding plastic or metal in the brace. Again, any help is welcome and if you know of a good brace that I would be able to PLAY in, let me know!! Thanks! -an eager to play rugger :)

having knee surgery because i have pvns? i have pvns in my knee and i'm going to have surgery to remove it in two weeks. to say the least im freaked out! they are doing the scope surgery on the front then making an s shaped incision on the back of the knee. they said it will be day surgery. i'm so afraid of waking up in BAD pain. can anyone who was this surgery or any surgery tell me if you woke up in pain? and when your put out when you wake up does if feel like you just closed your eyes? what do you feel like when you wake up? do the stitches kill? and most of all do you need a catheter for this surgery because i really do not want one! if you can answer any of my question i'd be very happy!
Healing Skin? My son was scheduled to get his knee scoped on Friday. He fell off his bike and scrapped the same knee up. The surgery has been canceled and can't be rescheduled until the wound heals. He's looking at a 6 week recovery from the scope. Then he has to go through physical therapy. He is scheduled to play football in the fall (Dr. gave his ok). So we are in a time crunch for getting the scope done. What can I do to help the scrapped knee heal faster so that the scope can be done? He has no health issues, takes no medication and it's just road rash on his knee.
diagnostic knee surgery?
