Cost Of Weight Loss Surgery? My fiancee weighs almost 400 pounds and wants to look into getting gastric by pass or lapband surgery but he has no insurance. Does anyone know how much it would cost?
Why is it that it costs less to get a sex reassignment surgery than to get a weight-loss surgery? Why is it that it costs over $25,000 to get the fat sucked out of you, but only costs between $7,000 - 24,000 to get a male to female sex reassignment surgery? Can any professional please explain this? There is more things involved with the reassignment surgery, but yet it costs less. I'm preferably looking for a professional answer.
What insurance companies cover weight loss surgery? I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE LAP BAND WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY BUT MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER IT. I HAVE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELDS I NEED TO KNOW WHICH COMPANY I SHOULD GET A POLICY FROM TO COVER THR COST OF SURERY.

Have you had weight loss surgery in North Alabama? I am contemplating weight loss surgery. I live in North Alabama and would like to know what procedure you had done, who you saw (if in my state), about how much it cost, if your insurance covered any of it, and what was negative about your experience? i.e. malpractice or would you recommend your doctor And please no one tell me that diet and excerise are the only answers. I am strictly trying to gather information about a possible alternative
Bariatric weight loss surgery? I have a cousin who is about 5 feet tall and closing in on 500 pounds. My cousin is one of the nicest people I have ever met but she is obese. She has 3 children to get healthy for but she has no money to speak of. I am really worried something is going to happen to her and my question is this, is there anywhere at all that she could get this surgery for free or at the fraction of the cost of the surgery. Thanks for your answers.
Pro's and Con's of Weight Loss Surgery? I'm one month off being 30 I'm 170cm tall and I weigh around 130kgs. I'm pretty much of perfect health except for some post natal depression being terribly overweight . My parents have put it too me that I should consider having surgery and they will cover the costs for me as they are worried I'm going to have a heart attack and leave behind my two beautiful boys. Having surgery was initally my idea, and yes I have tried everything from Tony Ferguson to Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers ect and go to the gym three times a week and train with a personal trainer and still can never lose more than 10kgs..... I would love to hear stories good or bad about having weight loss surgery and would like people's opinions too... thanks for your time Please dont think that my parents are ashamed of me, as they're not they just dont want to see me dead from a heart attack before I'm 40. If there was some way that you could help your child wouldnt you do everything in your power to make sure they had a happy healthy life??????
Have you gone through weight-loss surgery? This is not an invite for people to critisize someone's choice, but only to share valuable information. I would like to hear from those of you who have used surgery to take off weight. Be it Gastric Bypass, stomach stapling, or the newer stomach banding. Was it worth it? Did you have many complications? Did your health insurance cover the costs? Because of the personal nature of this question, I understand if you would rather answer by email, so feel free to click on the link in my profile. Thanks!
I'm 16 and I have saggy skin from weight loss. What surgery is there for it? Long story short. I was on steroids for asthma, I gained a ton of weight because of the high dosage. I lost over 100 pounds (but not all at once, over a few years) and now I have saggy skin. It hasn't responded to exercise or gone away on it's own. What surgery is there for it? I also have a ton of stretch marks (I know some are normal but I have thousands.) They are are on my breasts, my stomach, my butt, back, arms (all the way from my armpit to my elbows), my thighs and my knees. I'm really pale skinned and even though they're silvery, they show up. Also I can't get a tan or they show up. I can't wear any short sleeved shirts or shorts either. All summer people looked at me like I was cravy for wearing long sleeves and jeans. How could I get rid of them? Please help. Thanks. I don't care how much surgery costs as long as it works.
Has any female had post weight loss surgery? Later this year I will be having all my loose skin and what not nipped and tucked and was wondering if anyone on here has undergone arm lifts or tummy tucks...and how much they cost and any other info you could provide personally. And Im curious about what percentage of breast lifts result in having no feeling in the nipples due to severed nerves. Can breasts be lifted considerably by simply having a boob job to fill what the breasts used to be? Any info would be much appreciated....thanks!!

high protein shakes and weight loss? Start of I am overweight. I started Adipex prescribed by my doctor the end of April . I have lost 31 lbs so far. I work out at YMCA and recreationally swim (play with my kids) 3 to 4 times a week. My doctor suggested this meal replacement I haven’t even heard of myself but he has and he has been using it with other patients with great results so I trust him. Average weight loss 2-5 pounds a week on it. I will continue my Adipex for Appetite suppressant and I started the meal replacement today. The meal replacement is sold through him and he gave me free boxes 50 dollars worth. It will end up costing me about 100-150 month. Essentially the diet is high in protein and low in carbs and fat. This diet is calorie restricted. My question is Is protein what I want to lose the weight and if it is would adding a protein shake once a day aid in further weight loss? I am trying to avoid weight loss surgery. The way it is going I see great things.
Diet Medication/Lapband, what should be my first step towards major weight loss and how can I pay for this? First off, I have health insurance, but it's not the greatest, so I'm not sure how much of this would be covered. I'm at the point where my weight is a real hinderence and a health issue. It's been this way for most of my life and I've been through so many diets I couldn't even tell you how many. I'm considering going to a doctor (a general doctor first?) about this and finding out if I should go on a medication or possibly even have that lapband surgery. Has anyone here gone through this and what do you think my first steps should be? What things do I need to consider and how does this all get paid for? How much would diet medication or surgery cost? Also, I have to find time away from work if I have the surgery. Is this something short-term disability will cover or do I need an unpaid leave of abscence?
LapBand Surgery In Singapore? I am keen to do lapband surgery for weight loss. The cost is very high at $13K in Alexandra Hospital. Anyone knows where I can get it done at a lesser price

Insurance tell them or not? Will it help or not? Ok since you guys answered my other questions all the people at work are asking me this stuff now, here's the latest.. A woman at my work is very overweight, she has tried very hard (I've seen some of this first hand) to lose weight but to no avail. Yesterday she said she *thinks* she might have diabetes but isn't sure. I told her to see a doctor immediately and she said, she was planning on going to her insurance to see if they would help pay the cost of the weight loss surgery she was planning on having (something called a MGB). She said that about 90% of the people who have this surgery no longer suffer from diabetes issues after but she didn't know if going to the doctor and finding out if she has diabetes would help, or hurt her chances with insurance. Common sense tells me that if this procedure reduces her overall "bad health" that in the long run it will save the insurance company money, but then again I have NO idea how those guys work. So what should she do, find out if she has diabetes THEN tell them? And if so will it hurt/remove her chances of insurance heliong with her surgery or ? All help appreciated!
Toning Up After Weight Loss? I've lost a lot of weight around 100 lbs or more,I've got a lot of loose skin left and trying to tone it up but my body does not seem to be normal rather very flimsy and flexible to the point it's hard to lift weights to tighten it feels like I have a very boney body with extra fat on it.Do you know how I would go about tightening it without the cost of expensive surgery?
the cost of excess skin surgery? I'm in a weight loss program but what about the excess skin thats left .i need some figures on cost and if insurance companies are picking up some of the expenses ----thank you -------------chelsie
Extra skin after weight loss? I am on the road to having lost a lot of weight, and of course there's extra skin I must get rid of. The only way to do it properly is with surgery, from what I understand. Does anyone know how much this costs? And am I right to think no insurance would cover it?
weight loss and exercise tips for the obese? my friend has gained over 30lbs in the last year. i too have gradually gained weight over time. she and i both are used to being smaller, not small like a size 2 or a 4 but smaller than we are now. we both have tried numerous weight loss and exercise attempts. they will work temporarily but we usually give up or fall behind due to other life obligations (school, work, family, kids etc.) we don't believe in surgeries nor do we want to try any fad or restrictive diets. is their anyone here who has been obese and lost weight by walking?what are some easy alternatives for someone who is obese to work out and lose weight? i want positive answers from those who've actually done it or know someone who has. we are not looking for a easy way out because neither one of us is lazy and we know its not going to be simple but we are looking for safe, cost effective ways for an obese person to lose weight. strenuous workouts would be too dangerous for both of us because of our current weight and the gym is both intimidating and expensive.neither one of us has any real health issues but we are both predisposition to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and cholesterol due to family history.any positive answers would be greatly appreciated.
As a society, have we gone completely mad? Last year, over 200,000 Americans had weight loss surgery. www.asbs.org/Newsite07/resources/press_release_cbn_11107.pdf Over nineteen million Americans have Type II diabetes, and of these, an estimated 78% have a body mass index in excess of 35, and thus are considered eligible for weight loss surgery. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/23/health/research/23diabetes.html?_r=1&oref=slogin At approximately $30,000 a pop, the cost of performing surgery on every one of these individuals would be well in excess of 400 BILLION dollars. Before we go any farther down this road, maybe we ought to step back and take a look at where we are going. We live n a society in which cutting open an individual's abdominal cavity and rearranging his intestines is considered "normal," and the idea of expecting an individual to exercise a modicum of self-control is considered, well, crazy. I repeat: have we gone completely mad? A third-generation freethinker To Primordius Drool: We are also the descendants of people who evolved brains precisely so they could recognize that circumstances had changed and adjust their behavior accordingly.
What can you tell me about Lap Band surgery vs. Bariatric surgery? Has anyone had personal or professional experience with either of these? What information can you give me as far as success, risks, considerations, cost, follow-up care, happiness with the overall procedures? Thanks! :) Additional Details I've encountered people who have had bad luck with Bariatric surgery. Two that I know have died from complications. I'm also concerned about what happens with fast weight loss...what to do with all the extra skin. I saw at least one surgery on the Discovery channel where that was removed and the guy looked like he'd been sawed in half...it was horrible. I'm not that familiar with Lap Band, but a friend is considering it so I'm just looking for some information about it. Thanks!

Why is it still taboo to criticize obese people? I understand that there are diseases, genetics, and other factors that affect weight but there is a point on the way to becoming so obese your life is threatened, that you realize you have to change. In Ontario, if a certain BMI is reached, Ontario Health Insurance Plan covers the cost of getting a gastric bypass surgery or another extreme weight loss surgery. Gastric bypass is around $16000-$18000. As I tax payer, I don't see why I should have to compensate for people who can't control themselves. These people need help for mental disorders; not surgery. We can judge people who smoke because of their addiction and express our belief/opinions of religion, etc., but it's still so taboo to say ANYTHING to people about how wrong it is to be obese!!! ***When I say fat or obese, I don't mean chubby. I mean people who are extremely unhealthy because of weight*** I never once said I would on purpose go around to insult anyone. That's not the point, and I agree, people don't deserve that kind of judgment. But we can judge a drug addict because of their excessive drug abuse and tell them that drugs are detrimental for their mind, etc., but yet it would be offensive to tell an overweight someone all the ramifications of being overweight. We're trying not to hurt their feelings while we neglect the severity of the growing obesity rates. I believe it was on the movie Supersize Me, where the one man told the story of how a few people were at a restaurant, or just having dinner, when one of the men went to have a cigarette and a severely obese woman started telling him how bad smoking is. If he would've turned around and started telling her how bad obesity is, it would have been personally offensive to the woman. How does that make sense?
Is it too soon to consider bypass surgery? I'm seventeen years old - will be turning eighteen in December - and I've been overweight for several years now; I've made attempts at dieting, exercising, and have tried using Green Tea as a means of diet pills. I'm still a minor so I need to depend on my mom for diet pills - she seems reluctant to buy me anything really strong. Hence the reason why I only have used Green Tea. Before I try any form of surgery, I intend on trying a stronger diet pill - I don't see myself getting this surgery done until after I graduate high school. I have briefly spoke with my doctor about bypass - which seems to be my best option surgery wise - however I haven't sat down with a doctor about the procedure and the costs of it. I'm roughly 5'8" and I weight about 310 pounds - I've been around this weight for a while now. I can't seem to lose a lot of weight, but I can't seem to stick with a diet and exercise plan for a long period of time. I couldn't tell you why I'd feel that I'd be more enthusiastic if I were thinner, but I simply get too self conscious about my looks to work out. Now, having described my situation, I'd like to know how I should go about finding out more about my options and how much I should expect to be charged for a surgery like this. - I live near Madison, Wisconsin (United States) - I have had blood work done; no thyroid problem, my blood sugar level is pretty high, and my blood cholesterol is high - I haven't gone through any other obesity-related tests - My high weight level makes my periods less frequent, I'll get my period once every 2-4 months - My body mass index score is 47, so I'm in range for the surgery without an underlining issue What should I do at this point? Would you say it's too soon to turn to surgery for the weight loss I desire? I apologize for having such a long description.
For anyone that has had plastic surgery or any plastic surgeon.? I am 34 and due to weight loss i have a minimal amount of loose skin on my neck. It is nothing major, but i am very self conscious about it. If i squeeze the back of my neck, it goes away. I would still like to get this taken care of. Any suggestions and how much would something like this cost to get done?
Liquid Diet? I am interested in starting a Liquid Diet. Im VERY overweight and i currently have insurance to cover a weight loss surgery. I am wondering if anyone knows of a GOOD liquid diet plan to try..and something that doesnt cost 500 for 2 months. Thanks!
Diarrhea After Diskectomy Surgery? I am having Diarrhea several times a day and for 4 weeks now since I had my surgery. I have tried pepto-bismol and imodium. I feel bloated and get the sweats with weight loss. My disk is healing fine. I do not have good insurance and am in a hole with the cost of this surgery to be able to go see another doctor. What can I try? I was constipated right after surgery then it went to Diarrhea. I went to my surgeon - he said all was fine with the surgery and I should go to my general doctor. I do not have any money to go see him due to the cost of the surgery.
How do I get on Dr 90210? Before anyone jumps down my throat about being self centered I'm having weight loss surgery next month and i would like to try to get Dr Rey to do my reconstructive surgery next year after i have lost all of my weight. I am 23 and i saw him do another young wls patient and he told her he did an amazing job. So does anyone know how you get on the show as a patient? And if you have to pay or if the show takes care of the cost for you being on the show?
Are there any products in the market that are good for tightening loose skin around the tummy? The loose skin was caused by weight loss. HAven't been able to fully get rid of it since. Didn't want to consider treatments or surgeries as they cost too much.
Plastic Surgery and health company covering costs? i have Americhoice, Medicaid & Medicare I had Gastric Bypass in 2001 and insurance company covered surgery in full i now have alot of sagging skin due to the major weight loss. what kind of letters do i need from doctors / specialists to get an arm lift, leg lift or breast lift covered by my health insurance. what do the letters need to say that would help me get approved. i am from NJ
my friend needs help to pay for her dental surgery she is disabled and can not afford her surgery help please? does anyone know of a program to help pay for oral surgery we have found a dentist but it will cost $3555 but we only have 13 days to come up with the money she is HIV pos. thanks to her second husband and can not work anymore due to other health problems so she is on a fixed income with 2 kids at home this problem has become medically neccesary due to weight loss but medicare and medicaid does not cover dental please someone help us thank you
Gastric By Pass vs. Lapband surgery? I'm just curious why people are still getting gastric bypass when Lapband is 10 times safer and less risky then bypass and cost almost half as much. I do know with the bypass you lose weight faster, but as we all know thats not healthy. Almost anybody i've ever heard of thats had bypass is very sick. They need supplements after supplements to support the lack of nutrition. I got lapband surgery and i'm as healthy as a horse. I lost 80LBS. If I ever wanted to be fat again I could have it removed, bypass is permanent. I can't imagine being malnurished all the time. Anybody know? Please don't anybody be rude by saying people that get weight loss surgerys are lazy because that isn't my question and thats not true.
What can I do about a counselor who will not return patient calls or forward files to referring psychiatrist? My husband has been completing pre-op testing and counseling before having bariatric surgery. The weight loss clinic is in another state so he has been seeing a counselor close to home. He has completed 4 months of treatment. 7 weeks ago the counselor told him she would send her notes and her release for his surgery to the psychiatrist at the clinic. The psychiatrist says she still has not received anything and that she and the counselor have been playing phone tag. They were supposed to make contact 3 months ago. The counselor will not return his calls. He always gets an answering service and he and I have left several messages over a 2 week period. We would go to her office but she keeps strange unpredictable office hours. My husband cannot get scheduled for his surgery until this counselor passes his treatment information along. Now he may not be scheduled before the end of the year and his insurance deductible and out of pocket costs start over. I don't know that anyone can give me advice but I am just frustrated that 2 supposed professionals behave this way.
10 points!!!!!!!!summarize please? With no magic weight-loss pill available and more focus on the increasing rate of obesity among adults, people struggling with obesity are turning to surgery, especially procedures that have become less invasive. For local surgeons and hospitals, that demand translates into a growing business for bariatric — stomach reduction — surgery. Some Bay Area hospitals and medical groups that have performed the surgery for a few years are now expanding, hiring more surgeons and buying more equipment geared for operating on people who weigh as much as 600 pounds. "There are more people understanding the significance of the health risk," said Dr. Mary Estakhri, director of minimally invasive surgery for ValleyCare Health System in Pleasanton. "Years ago, it was seen as incredibly drastic or it was seen as taking the easy way out. But now, frequently patients know other people who have had it, and it's more of a reality." Since 2000, Estakhri has performed stomach reduction surgeries at ValleyCare with laparoscopic surgery, a technique that is less invasive. The health system recently hired another surgeon since officials expect a 25 percent increase in bariatric patients over the next year. The procedure involves inserting a small camera in the surgical area through a small incision, and surgeons view the area on a video screen. They operate with instruments inserted through other small incisions. In the last three years, stomach reduction surgeries have almost doubled, increasing from almost 37,000 in 2000 to over 63,000 for the year ended in June, according to the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. About 90 percent of those surgeries were performed in this country. Given average surgery costs of $25,000, that translates to more than $1.4 billion spent on bariatric surgery in the United States in the most recent year. And though many insurers cover it, some only cover a specific type of bariatric operation. It is not uncommon for patients to foot the bill themselves, hospital administrators say. For instance, 20 percent of the patients who have had stomach reduction surgery by Drs. Robert or John Rabkin in San Francisco pay for the surgery themselves, according to their office. Demand for surgeries in the future is expected to remain strong, though it's hard to say what it will be exactly since the decision to undergo the procedure is a personal one. The surgery is meant for morbidly obese people or those people at risk for diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and back problems. About 16 million people in this country are morbidly obese, or at least 100 pounds overweight. "It's a service line that for most hospitals is profitable at this time," said Ken Steele, CEO of St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco. A combination of factors make the surgery more popular now, Estakhri and others say. In the last few years, celebrities including singer Carnie Wilson and NBC weather forecaster Al Roker have had stomach reduction surgery. And national attention has spotlighted the fact that more Americans are obese and that obesity is a high risk for diabetes, hypertension, a host of back problems and ailments like sleep apnea. Dr. John Feng, part of Laparoscopic Associates, a practice in San Francisco headed by Dr. Gregg Jossart, frequently sees patients at satellite offices in Petaluma and Eureka. Three surgeons in the practice perform three kinds of laparoscopic surgery on at least 200 patients a year, mostly at California Pacific Medical Center. The surgeons hold online chat sessions with patients to help them with questions about their recovery. "It's such a growing field right now that I think it will drive a lot of doctors to get this expertise especially in laparoscopic surgery because patients specifically look for that," Feng said. "It's not unusual to have patients come into the office who have read a lot about this surgery and they come into the office and ask" for a specific kind of surgery. "Unless we can find the underlying problems causing obesity, and those are multifactorial, I think it will only grow," Feng said of the demand. The surgeries reduce the size of the stomach and the rate at which calories are absorbed. So after surgery, a person does not want to eat as much. Results of the surgery vary but a person can lose anywhere from half to at least 70 percent of their excess body weight over a period of a year or two following surgery. The surgery can be especially beneficial for adults under age 60, Feng said, because it often enables them to get off expensive medication. Earlier this year, St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco spent about $500,000 to equip an operating room with special tables and equipment. CEO Ken Steele has been engineering a turnaround for the Catholic Healthcare West hospital, which is close to breaking even after losing more than $12 million in 2001. Steele estimates that about 160 bariatric opera
What are you going to do with the money? What are you going to do with the money that you want and so desperately need if it ever comes you way. You know, the money you keep "hoping" will happen to you some day. List everything you need the money for. I want a nice home and enough money to live in it for starters. Like a townhome in NYC or something like that, plus enough to live in it forever. It isn't enough to get the home, you have to afford to keep and maintain it. I also want money to help set up shelters for homeless animals and to improve shelters that already exist. I would also get plastic surgery and join a weight loss club or group. I would get a new car and use it to fight for the rights of the disabled, going to places. You know it costs money to drive a car so I would need money for to keep and maintain the car too, for gas. I would make sure my pets were well taken care of with quality food and healthcare. I would also want to somehow help abused people. What about you? P.S. I know I sound like goody two shoes with all the stuff about helping the abused and animals etc. Of course I want stuff for myself too, not just a house but nice furnishings. Please be honest in your answer. You don't have to put down you want to help the needy, etc. Just tell the truth.
Stretch mark removal? What are some surgeries to remove stretch marks? I don't care about pain or money costs. I'm 16 and I gained weight weight on steroids (went to 270 pounds). I'm 215 now and my stretch marks won't even allow me to wear a sleeveless shirt (like they go from my armpit down past my elbow). They're absolutely horrid (and what's the point of losing weight if I can't even wear a tank top). Do you think I could get an arm lift and jsut remove the skin on my arms (it's starting to become saggy from weight loss anyway and I'd rather a long scar than the stretch marks)? Also what can I do about ones on my stomach, butt, back, sides, hips, thighs and such? Don't suggest a cream. They don't work. Suggest a surgery or procedure that gives good results. Thanks. Also what's the name of this treatment? http://www.docshop.com/education/dermatology/body/stretch-mark-removal/laser/ Also I've had these stretch marks since I was like 11 years old so they're older. They're silvery. I'm not going to grow anymore unless I gain weight. I have stunted growth from the steroids so I'm probably not going to get any taller than my height right now (which is 5'8 ft). I'd rather save my money for a permanent surgery than waste it on lotion that won't work half as good. I'm 16. I can't get a tummy tuck. There's not even a doctor that would perform a tummy tuck on someone under 30 who hasn't had children.
Raw Food Diet QUESTION? I'm interested in trying the raaw food diet. I'm 16/f and I gained weight on steroids (asthma) and I need to get a series of surgeries and I can't do them while I'm over weight. Currently I'm about 220 pounds and 5'8. I've lost 60 pounds over the past few years. I don't eat a lot (maybe once per day) and I don't like junk food or sweets or anything. I ate a piece of cake at a birthday party the other day and it made me dizzy. Just makes me feel gross. I don't really drink soft drinks either. Just water, milk and green tea (diet so no calories). Anyway I've been reading about the raw food diet and was wondering about it for weight loss. Also I don't have a lot of energy because my asthma has always got to me. Also I broke my collarbone and now I need surgery to fix it so it hurts to move. So I don't have a high energy level and I read raw food people say they feel more energetic. How do I go about starting it? Also how much does it costs to follow this way of eating? My family largely just eats what everyone else is eating and what's cheap. I know fresh veggies and stuff cost a lot of money and my family can't afford to give me special treatment. Please help and give advice. Thanks.
How much does a Breast Lift with Augmentation and how old must you be to get one? My breasts are C cups (have been since I was like 9). They sag really badly from beign heavy and from weight loss. Even bras can't give them a normal shape. Even my mom is anti surgery supports me in getting a Breast Lift with Augmentation. So just wondering with parental permission, can I get one at 17 (I'm 16 now)? I plan on going to a DD (better for my frame because I'm tall and I've seen breast lifts and they don't give great results on their own). My breasts are not going to get any bigger. They've been the same size since I was 9 and I was the same height I was at 9 too (5'8). So can I get it at 17? Also how much does it cost? Please post any useful info. Thanks. No, I'm done growing. I've had the same body since I was 10.
My husband? I have been thinking of having lap band. It hit me hard when my doctor referred to me as obese. I told him please for the love of God just call me FAT! Obesity sounds like something you just cannot get rid of...or some kind of disease. Well, it seems as if this is what obesity is starting to become. I have always been a large woman, but shapely, well proportioned. I have always been agile. I have given birth to four children. With my last child, I had a C-section. My stomach is BIG now! It hangs and I will be the first to say it is rather disgusting. I diet, exercise, and get no results. I need to see a doctor that specializes in weight loss. I have no energy what so ever. I get hungry at odd hours. I drink more water than you can imagine trying to fulfill some of my hunger. Whatever it is that I do is irrelevant to what I want to say. I am not seeking advice for dieting and exercise. So, please read this post to its entirety before responding! My problem is that every time I bring this matter to attention to my husband he responds negatively. He can be the sweetest man I know as well as the meanest man I know. This morning we were lying in bed talking. I told him I want to get lap band. I am tired of being fat and I am beginning to become physically challenged...I just want to be healthy. He says man if you do I hope you do not think I am going to stop eating the things I like. I never suggested that, neither would I. He can eat himself to his grave! That is his prerogative. I reminded him that when I diet that I never make changes that will affect the whole family. I will not deny him something. This is for me! I don't eat Lil' Debbie snacks...he does! I have never asked him to alter his diet. So, why would he think I would ask him to now? He says there are certain things I won't be able to eat. I am not sure. This is one aspect of the surgical procedure I have failed to research. I have mostly spoken to others that have received lap band. I have researched things like cost. That was my main concern. I should consider researching side effects of the surgery and I will. I am just disappointed that he is so insensitive. I do not want to be fat. He makes comments that make me realize that he does not want me to be fat. I know he would much rather enjoy making love to a thinner me. I have become so large that it interferes with our sex life. I don't mean to be so graphic but this man loves for me to be atop while making love. I feel like I am going to crush or somehow hurt him and I refuse. This is unfair to him. I want to be able to run around and play with my kids again. I cannot figure out why discussing me having this procedure done is so hard for him to talk about?!?! It is hurtful to listen to him say things like that. He says you can do all that with diet and exercise. I can have the procedure done, still diet and exercise, and get some results! That is what, I want and I cannot fathom why he will not respect that. Ok, here is what I do not want. I did not anticipate people telling me how to lose weight. I know how. I DO DIET & EXERCISE DAILY! Nothing is effective anymore. I have always lost weight after giving birth to my oldest 3 children. However, on the contrary have always been what society and most doctors consider overweight. I was told I could quite possibly have a thyroid issue. I never went for the testing. I am currently changing insurance providers. I was thinking that if I had the procedure, dieted and exercised, I would not have to deal with excess skin. Because I will be toning my body!! I am not a flabby, fat nasty, heifer or anything. I am just simply tired of being overweight. I have never in my life had a problem with neither getting nor keeping a man. I am MARRIED!! I am not had on the eyes! As far as the Paul McKenna program, my professor is going to be on TLC. It is a program with Paul McKenna. She recommended him too. My husband knows I am not going to get thin and le Ok, here is what I do not want. I did not anticipate people telling me how to lose weight. I know how. I DO DIET & EXERCISE DAILY! I think he may be scared of risks involved I have tried a variety of things, none have been successful. I will not stop...I can't. I never stop when I truly want something. I will never give up!
Why is the husband so insensitive? I have been thinking of having lap band. It hit me hard when my doctor referred to me as obese. I told him please for the love of God just call me FAT! Obesity sounds like something you just cannot get rid of...or some kind of disease. Well, it seems as if this is what obesity is starting to become. amino acids to grow taller? Has anyone tried it? on this website http://www.grow-taller.com/ it says There are two unnatural ways to increase growth hormone level: 1) Using growth hormone - releasing products like glycine, glutamine, agrinine, ornithine, niacin, and 16 other amino acids which you can get with or without a prescription. Such substances and drugs are usually used by body builders. They are also useful for elderly people to increase their growth hormone level. Some of them are good for boosting immunity, protecting the liver, fighting cancer, helping rebuild body tissue after surgery or trauma, and many other treatments. Because amino acids help produce growth hormones, some of them, with proper exercises, may be taken to increase your growth. However, I would not recommend doing this self-treatment without medical supervision, especially for children. Any of these drugs has to be taken with proper dosage and some of them with other drugs or nutrients. Improper usage may cost you serious problems. Also, there are many side effects from using these products: diarrhea, low toxicity, headache, drowsiness, muscle spasms, dizziness, high blood pressure, nervousness, depression, hair loss, gaining weight, and many more. So, be careful! 2) Another unnatural way to increase growth is the man-made growth hormone received by series of injections (which cost from $12,000 to 18,000 per year), prescribed after careful evaluation of a person's growth pattern and growth potential. These injections may help you to grow, but inducing growth too quickly may inhibit later growth. In addition, unnatural growth hormones may produce other various side effects including: high cholesterol, diabetes, liver abnormalities, increased tissue stiffness, carpal tunnel syndrome, musculosketal disease, neuropathy, allergic reactions, pancreatitis, hyperglycemia, visual deterioration, headaches, vomiting, increased liver enzyme levels, increased sweating, edema, pain in general and back pain specifically. Pick the one you prefer. If you receive these injections, your body will adapt to this drug and will refuse to produce natural growth hormones after you stop receiving injections.
