FattyChat.com Review

Author: Malory Martin

There are five main areas of the FattyChat.com website - Before and After pictures, Forums, Online Journals, Recipes, and News. The entire site is basically user-driven. You can (obviously) post in the forums, but also create your own Before and After Galleries, share your recipes and keep a blog-like journal. I'll explore each of these areas.

Before and After Pictures

This is probably the one section of this site that most AllBodySurgery.com visitors would be most interested in. Any FattyChat user can create a gallery of up to 5 pairs of before and after pictures. For each pair a user uploads both a before image and an after image and has an area to textually describe that pair of pictures. You then assign a category to your gallery and it instantly appears there for others to see.

Forums

Of course, there are a number of topics to get you started, but the central focus here is to provide you with an outlet to share what you've eaten today. This area has been dubbed the "Confessional" and is described as

Confess your dirty deeds here. What did you eat? How much? How little? Guilty pleasures are what we want to know.
There are also sections for gossip, Hollywood buzz, healthy eating tips and more.

Journals

Every user gets her own online journal. You can set that journal as being either public or private. The journals are similar to a blog, but made for simplicity. There are no formatting options, but you can upload a picture for each entry if you wish. If you have your journal set as public, then others will be able to read your entries. It seems that the journals keep track of how many people are visiting them, and the most popular appear on the main Journals page.

Recipes

Again, these are all user-submitted recipes. Anyone can share their favorite concoctions here. You can even upload a picture of your creation and have it featured on the main Recipes page. Each recipe is organized by a category. The appetizers are my personal favorites. Yummy!

News

I must say that there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of news on this site. However, most of it is quite interesting. The news that is uncovered here is not the type of thing you would find on the MSN home page each morning. It's more of an "underground" view of the types of tings FattyChat users would most likely be interested in. There are articles about different types of new surgeries, diet fads, ground-breaking websites and more. The fact that the news is not updated daily is made up by the fact that it is interesting... and fairly timeless.

In all, I found the FattyChat site to be interesting and different. It is certainly not for everyone. The extreme dieters, plastic surgery fanatics and all around gossip queens, however, probably feel right at home. In any case, it's definitely worth exploring. Have fun with it... they do!
